Multiple Orders possible?

Command Ops: Battles From The Bulge takes the highly acclaimed Airborne Assault engine back to the West Front for the crucial engagements during the Ardennes Offensive. Test your command skills in the fiery crucible of Airborne Assault’s “pausable continuous time” uber-realistic game engine. It's up to you to develop the strategy, issue the orders, set the pace, and try to win the laurels of victory in the cold, shadowy Ardennes.
Command Ops: Highway to the Reich brings us to the setting of one of the most epic and controversial battles of World War II: Operation Market-Garden, covering every major engagement along Hell’s Highway, from the surprise capture of Joe’s Bridge by the Irish Guards a week before the offensive to the final battles on “The Island” south of Arnhem.

Multiple Orders possible?

Post by Seydlitz69 »

Is it possible to give more then one order to a Unit? Iam thinkin of let's say a Infantry Battalion. I want it to move in a column around some woods and then at the FUP I want it to spread out in line formation and attack. Can I give these orders in one sequence or do I have to give the Move order and then the attack order?

The formation commands for an attack order apply to the reorg and assault phases of the order, and not to move phase (travel from where they are to the FUP).

In general all orders accommodate moving and some action upon arrival except for fire and bombard.

If you do just a move, I believe you can set a formation for the movement. However, usually you don't specify anything and you get column unless they come under fire. Then they may decide on their own to deploy into a formation.

I hope that helps.

Select "attack," hold down shift and click on the forming-up place (FUP), release shift, click on the attack location. Done!

You can only give one order, but your tac AI will usually do what you describe automatically, i.e. move in column to the FUP before attacking.
