Turn 10
May 10th 1940

Germany has received the Biltzkrieg card and has finally launch an offensive putting an end to the Phoney War.
HQ in Amsterdam and Brussels were bombed, both cities were taken with low cassualties, nonetheless the belgium HQ managed to survive!!!
The french mechanized corps in Lille was bombed by the LW with little effect so an artillery corps was brough in range to shell it, that reduced its effectiviness a lot more than Goering's pilots. Then it was completely wiped outby our rolling panzers.
The french troops in the Maginot line were bypassed, the French MAginot HQ has 7 fighter and the AA unit has 10 inmobile flak with a reach radius of two, so no air attacks in their zone of control.
Hopefully next turn they will be begin to suffer supply problems and won't harras too much our troops
Paris is within reach, if we could take it next turn that would be a great success.

Now will op dynamo be possible?
Subs were sent to sink two transport merchants in the Calais Defense HQ only to find the Channel blocked by a brittish sub, here we took a great risk and since at the begining of the turn we got info about a CVII and a CAII being comissioned in London we decided to attack it's harbour. The attack was not a success but we didn't lose any subs, this could very well change in the next turn, to prevent it 5 fighterI and 1 fighter II were deployed in Brussels to give air cover.

In the screenshot you can see the situation at the begining of the turn and at the end of it, along woth the cassualties on both sides.

Nice AAR Rafael. Keep on going with it.
Question - why did you sail out so early with your subs? On my belive - it is important to have subs intercepting supplay once when you attack France. So I belive that a sail out is ordered when you have 20 subs at least, and I make them in group of 5-6 per pack. Good recon.
I rearly menage to cut suplay to Giblartar. Better hunting place is in Western aproach region, or close to Canada.
I prefere close to Canada becouse players usualy keep the fleet in England and I sneak thru them. Also there is a chance that subs may spot and sink lone unexpirianced destroyers sailing to England.
Anyway - good AAR and nice pictures

Because it's really my first game as Germany and I have to learn the hard way. Against the AI it doesn't bother to hunt them down, a human opponent is so much harder!!!
Thanks for the compliments, Goran

Sub recon! A single sub in a unit. If you encounter any bad guys on the way you stand to lose only one sub, if the route is clear then you can send in the rest of the lads.

Mat

P.S read this somewhere else on the forum. Not my idea but just passing it on.

I dissagre. Single sub wont show what enemy have in a city and often will just pass by enemy fleet without noticing it. So I prefere to have 4 at least in a group. And they were set to retreat on 5% so it is hard to kill them.

It always struck me as a difficult decision in determining how many resources to commit to the Battle of the Atlantic and whether to try Sea Lion or not. Obviously if you can win either of those quickly and decisively as the Axis, it's a big mark in your favor...as it makes it much more difficult for the West to establish a second front.

However, playing against a skilled Western player, there is a real danger of not being able to pull it off. The problem, as I see it, is that if you over-commit resources to it, it can have a serious impact at what you have available to throw into Russia.... and if you commit alot of resources and fail..it really puts you in a hole.

On the other hand, if you don't commit enough resources...it can leave the West feeling confident enough to stage landings/raids anywhere he chooses.

So far I have lost all my sub wolfpacks, have I think 3 or 4 more subs, I don't want to open the save yet. And also I have lost 4 fighterI , the odds were not to my favor 12 to 5. If the commit to France card is not played Vichy will be stablished this turn. Pondering how far to commit against the UK, I beleive he must have AA guns around London plus his 12 fighters plus all the frenchies aircraft ehzorgh manage to evacuate, while I have ~5 fighterII and 10 fighter I

Turn eleven
June 7th 1940

As OKW feared all subs trying to hit the new Brittish vessels before they left port were hunted down till they hit the end of the Channel. Damned I should have set the retreat level to 5% as advised above [:@], hate learning the hard way LOL
Also their cap fighters were badly mauled suffering an 80% of losses (4 fighterI)
Land cassualties on the other hand were relatively low, but all french fighters made it to England, cowards [:-][:@]

At the end of the turn artillery is moved to hammer the Maginot line should the French not accept the Vichy Card.
An attack on the Maginot Village failed to conquer it even when the HQ was severly hit that was not the purpose or main objective.

Turn 12
July 5th 1940

The french destroyed one of our fallschimjager corps, the one north of Vichy. Paris had fallen last turn so first thing I did was play the Vichy card, and all frenchies went straight into pow camps.
At the same time Italy had joined the winning side (so far...[:)])
Here is a screen at the beggining of the turn.

The plan now is to invade Yugoslavia so all land forces except Army Group france are heading toward Yugoslavia, once secured we will drive towards Greece but Barbarossa will have preference over Greece if time runs short.
The bulk of the Luftwaffe was left in Normandy and Calais.
Norway Ore production center was bombed by the Brittish, air cover is on its way but if they repeat the attack it may very well be knocked out [:@]
Engineers are also being prepared for repairing bridges and production centers, they will be motorised units so they can move fast from one place to another when needed.
Fast moving units are in charge of dealing with future partisan units, they consists of 2 armoured car and 10 infantry each, they'll garrison the bridges as well.

With Italy, Malta is our first priority, the Italian navy will bomb the garrison and then we plan an amphibious assault. Agaisnt the AI aerial raids proved disastrous so no air raids against Malta are planed. In order to do so the italian navy sailed to Sicily.
NA was reinforced, no plans of attacking until troops are more trained, currently they're at 8 experience, totally green troops and worthless.

So basicly you dropped the idea of See Lion? And you will leave the Pacific alone, or will you produce more subs?

Hi all:

Due to lack of time I'm sorry I won't be able to continue with this AAR [:(], rather use my time playing the game [8D] nonetheless should I have time I would coninue it.
