Recovering fatigue

Post by fleischer »

In the manual it is stated that "Whenever units are stationary and either resting, defending or waiting, their fatigue will reduce". However, units will actually only recover fatigue during night if they are defending or waiting. Once night turns to day, the fatigue level starts increasing.

Bug?

(basic supplies and temperature ruled out)

fleischer,

Sorry but I do not understand what you are saying here. Can you elaborate, provide an example and a saved game where the issue occurs. Thanks.

I'm saying units which are defending or waiting are having their fatigue levels *increased* during daytime, regardless of:

- Enemy presence
- Basics supply level
- Temperature
- Fitness
- Wether they are defending/waiting in urban areas or elsewhere

It occured during the Höfen scenario. Axis, default settings.

OK thanks. That's becuase of mods I made for BFTB. Looks like we need to alter the manual then. Sorry about that. If you have guys defending during the day they do accrue fatigue. This is to represent all the digging, patrolling etc that goes on when they are defending. At night defending troops do recover a bit but if they rest they recover a lot.

I saw how units defending accue fatigue, and can see how digging in, patrolling, etc. would add fatigue during the day. Two things I'd tweek:
1. Increase the fatigue recovery rate. While I see accruing fatigue when stationary for the reasons above, however, if the unit does anything else, such as a 20 km march (<9 miles w/ no contact), its wiped out for several days. I think the recovery should be such that a unit should be able to make that march, dig in, and recover to be able to repeat indefinitely. I think overall the fatigue is a bit overdone.
2. Make so you don't automatically dig in on a rest command. It can be used a way to avoid the 'defending' fatigue accrual, yet still digs in.
