Release date?

Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: The German-Soviet War 1941-1945 is a turn-based World War II strategy game stretching across the entire Eastern Front. Gamers can engage in an epic campaign, including division-sized battles with realistic and historical terrain, weather, orders of battle, logistics and combat results.

The critically and fan-acclaimed Eastern Front mega-game Gary Grigsby’s War in the East just got bigger and better with Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: Don to the Danube! This expansion to the award-winning War in the East comes with a wide array of later war scenarios ranging from short but intense 6 turn bouts like the Battle for Kharkov (1942) to immense 37-turn engagements taking place across multiple nations like Drama on the Danube (Summer 1944 – Spring 1945).

The big question is, when this intresting game will be released? The Historical Barbarossa day?

Maybe von altair meant the 60th year of Barbarossa. 22.06.41 = 22.06.11.

That would be quite a long wait.
But I really think von altair was just trying to get a "fight" going among the forum readers and users. But it was nice to see the "A-Team" respond so fast.

But maybe just maybe, the 22.06.10 could be possible?[:D]

Sorry no. As mentioned we're still in alpha so that won't happen.

I would give them all the time they want -- you sure don't want a rushed release like so many other companies produce these days, that are basically unplayable until patched twice. And even then have tons of half-implemented or missing features, but an OSP-DRM...

It's done when it's done.

PD you could always see it from our standpoint. You'd be sending your daughter to school half dressed.

I wasn't even thinking that the alpha plus beta phase would be finished by june 21st. You're spending too much time doing the AAr, never mind the chores you have to do to keep your wife happy.
Now christmas, that sounds like something else, just in time for the long winter evenings.

Keep up the hard work. Even if we do tease and beg here, don't pay any attention to it.

There ain't nothin' like a little temporary duty w/o the family to whet the appetite for this game...bring it on! Of course, late August is good

btw Hard Sarge...you could have shot for Father's day...that way I wouldn't have to buy it!

good things come to he who waits, and waits, and waits!

The takeaway is that the development team is making good progress.  It sounds to me like the end may be insight for alpha testing.

Have you ever tried the Father's day lay away plan? I already have my kids sighted in on this game. Whenever it comes out I have a Father's Day unpaid marker ready to be cashed in to have them buy me this game. Takes patience on your part but it is successful way to get what you really want. I think June 22, 2011 sounds about right. There are a lot of reasonable comments that need to be addressed, particularly regarding withdrawal of units per historical schedule. It all takes time and it's still Alpha.

By the way British Exil(e), your arithmetic is off by ten years, it will be the 70th aniversery of the attack. If you were American, I would figure you for an MBA, but a displaced Brit, how can this be?[:D]

Oops! yes it should be 70 years, at least somebody read my post. No idea how I arrived at 60years. [&:]

MBA: Married by accident? No! My dad was in the BAOR, so I ended up staying over here in Germany.

British Exil without an e, a name I used often in school, my classmates used to leave the e away to tease me, somehow the name stayed and the e didn't.

Geez man, you are seeing ghosts in sunlight. Just a simple question, nothing more.

I gathered it was only a question. I am a forum user who does see the fun in most threads, esp the ones about the release dates.

But you might be right about seeing the ghosts, sometimes I do get the 1000 yard stare when I think about my strategy in between turns. Esp when I am getting kicked around.

Yeah, I was hoping to buy this game 22.06.2010 since my holiday starts just few days after!
I am sure this game is worth all waiting. I spent hours and hours with Gary's War in Russia. :)

Any chance we can get a heads-up notice a week or so in advance?  It would help the budgeting process.
