RE: Downfall v2 AAR

Post by NAVMAN »

So, as it stands now, my two(2) corps which are at Kanoya will be marching on. One will
go to Kagoshima and one will go up the east coast to Oita(sp). I am anticipating
bringing more forces for Kagoshima, unless I can take it "on the march". However,
intel says there are 65k+ troops there, so not much chance of that. Oita(sp) seems to
have approx 35k troops there.
I have been bombing Kagoshima w/ bombers on Formosa, incl B29s, Libs, and Forts,
along w/ Lancs and Lincolns.
The bombing of Japan continues, w/ emphasis on engine plants and airfields. I have brought in Lincs and Lancs there as well.
Units at Tarakan are being transported to Manila and being prepped to invade Hong
Kong(1000 vps). Intel est is approx 25k troops there.
Troops are being moved from the west coast either to PH and thence to Manila or Manila
direct. I d/n anticipate any more amphip landings on Japan. I will go overland. I think
the seaward defenses are too strong.
I will be posting some situation maps shortly.

And now for something a little diff. Below are screen shots of my major bases.
Doing this to show the immense resources available to the Allied player.
These shots are in March, 1946.
