Michael says that all the stock art got overwritten.

I keep a seperate modded art folder for the overwrites in an extra folder.
Then all I have to do is copy and paste after every major patch.
Have one for sounds too.[;)]

Imperial Crest - pt1

Post by Reg »

ORIGINAL: Tone

Here is Imperial Crest for commissioned Japaneses ships - thank you Tone

Thank you to divepac88 that did this for me.

Simple item that has a big effect. I have reformatted DivePac88/Tone's Imperial Crest graphic into a placeholder for all the IJN ship slots from 0001 to 0546. This should get all the commissioned combatants down to but not including the PT boats. The Imperial Crest will show up on the Ship Information screen.

I have put this pack together is so you guys can simply install and enjoy DivePac88/Tone's work. I think I have missed a few escorts as they were mixed in with the Marus and PTs but there shouldn't be too many.

If you have already installed your own IJN ship patches, be careful that this placeholder set doesn't overwrite them.

Installation:
=============
Just unzip into your game folder with the 'Use Folders' option set. (The zip archive already includes the art folder)

The download link for Part 1 of 2 is at bottom of this post.

Revolving ArtWork Utility V1.3

Post by Reg »

ORIGINAL: Reg

I have updated my revolving artwork utility to handle rotating ship artwork based on the info above.
(Michael, I assume the transparency files (Shils) are treated in exactly the same fashion...)

If anyone would like this utility to make the creation and formatting of rotating ship art distributions a lot easier, please feel free to use it. (I don't do ships...)

The instructions including a tutorial are included in the zip file.

Any suggestions on how to make this tool (or the instructions) better will be gratefully accepted.

Updated to Version 1.3 due to a bug where the "All Years" background and transparency images weren't being written to the distribution folder.

Apologies to the 8 or so guys who downloaded version V1.2 but you will need to download and use the latest version.

Download from here: Revolving ArtWork Utility

Recovery for distributions created under V1.2:

If you have already created distribution sets you will need to recreate them.

Alternately it may save a bit of repeated effort if you just copy and paste the following lines to the end of the "xxxx_f.bat" configuration file and run the build-dist.bat script again.

Code: Select all

if NOT EXIST %2\Art\AlliedShip_back mkdir %2\Art\AlliedShip_back
if NOT EXIST %2\Art\JapShip_back mkdir %2\Art\JapShip_back
if NOT EXIST %2\Art\AlliedShip_Transp mkdir %2\Art\AlliedShip_Transp
if NOT EXIST %2\Art\JapShipShills_transp mkdir %2\Art\JapShipShills_transp

Sorry about that guys.....

Cheers,
Reg.

Hi Reg:
Was any of your rotating air art that we installed impacted by the latest beta patch?
Also, did you include FM-1 Wildcats in any of them?

Thx!

Hi Reg:
Was any of your rotating air art that we installed impacted by the latest beta patch?

As the rotating art files are all new*, there is no chance of them being overwritten by the default art in a comprehensive patch.

This post includes an attachment that lists all the bitmaps in the patch.

Edit: * This is only strictly true for aircraft rotating art (and the LCU and SHP patches). The 'All Year' image for rotating ship art will be overwritten. Also improved default files such as Cathartes fantastic new aircraft top art will also be overwritten.
Also, did you include FM-1 Wildcats in any of them?

Ummmmm, Errrr.... I was kinda hoping no one would notice. [:(]

I did say that release was a first pass only and that I couldn't guarantee it was complete. However, I have attached a zip file which are just the F4F-4 images copied into the FM-1 slot to get you by.

As usual, just unzip into your game folder with the 'Use Folder' option set (the 'Art' folder is included in the archive).

I am waiting on a reply from Cathartes before I release the next batch.

Edit 30Jun10: As a special request Cathartes has generously provided some FM-1 sideart. The attachment has been updated with the new images.
