Thanks.

The best place to meet players for H2H is now Gameranger.

WaR Games connect and launch automatically.

but for BHQ

I believe this will be addressed more fully in the upcoming patch.

But from the config. menu

select Do not use direct play and then navigate and choose c:\matrixgames\Close Combat Wacht am Rhein\CCE.exe

When the host hits LAUNCH in BHQ both host and client will start WaR.

It will open at the Main Screen

HOST

Navigate to multiplayer.

Choose

Internet TCP

Host a Game (and select a battle to play)

CLIENT

WaR will load to the main Screen

Navigate to Multiplayer

Choose Internet TCP

Click on HOST IP button

In the box hold down Ctrl and tap v (Ctrl-V)

The Hosts IP address will be input automatically

Select the battle

Join

(This is the same process that CC2 users have used in BHQ for years)

Thank-You Andrew,
Are there other places people are or have been able to play WAR?

You can play anywhere... just swap IP addresses.

In VISTA you may see this error message.

Run GmClienteExe (BHQ) as administrator to get rid of it.

C:\Matrix Games\Close Combat Wacht am Rhein\Battle HQ\Client\GmClientExe.exe

fyi
Once you load a game through BHQ you cant access any of the folders on your desktop as BHQ opens a pop-up window while the game is running.
This prevents you from trying to then run any program from your desktop that you may want to use during your game.I suggest relocating any screen shot program or video capture program somewhere else or load it before starting a game.

Am I correct in thinking one can still edit the background graphics for a more custome look for BHQ?

I do not know if somebody has told it but the "forgot password" option from BHQ does not run.

There is also a link to wargamer that doesn't work and currently there is a report in that the signup page doesn't work.

BHQ has been updated

Go to the WaR support site http://closecombat.matrixgames.com/WaR/WaRmods.html

Scroll down to the BHQ listing.

Download and Install BHQ (PLSetup.exe)

You should now be able to create an account.
