OK so here’s my first stab at an AAR so hope it can contribute to the forums.
My opponent and I have agreed to the normal house rules.

My initial grand strategy is as follows.

I have always tried to establish my perimeter as quickly as possible so I am bypassing obvious targets to head to the outermost regions first. I find most of the inner allied controlled bases are weakly defended if at all and are usually ignored by the allied player for evacuation.
Fuel and supply bases in the DEI are also a priority and an early invasion of Palembang is in the works with a sizeable force so that the conquest of Sumatra can continue after the allies are purged from Palembang.
Secondly I believe an early strike against Burma to catch Sulusea offguard would be beneficial and hamper any evacuation attempt he may be trying from Singapore utilizing Rangoon so I am sending the Imperial Guard and accompanying units to Pisanluke right at start for a march across to Moulmein while the main bulk of my Malasian invasion forces bottle up the allies in Singapore.Also if Burma can be taken quickly he may spend his time fortifying India instead of bogging me down in Burma
Two divisions and support troops are heading south to take Fiji first and then west to Noumea. My strategy in the southern part of the perimeter is to try to strangle the supplies coming into Australia. I will accomplish this by holding bases east of Australia (Noumea) while suppressing western Aus with naval elements for the supplies coming from Cape town. I feel that an invasion of Western Aus would put too many forces too far away for defense later on.

So first day attacks went off without any problems. I was hoping for somewhat more damage to the Pacific fleet but I cany complain. I had set a few extra Vals on airfield duty with the intention of staying the extra day to attack PH. I,ve always felt the only good enemy ship is a ship on the bottom and I like to get the job done.

Good Luck!  Watch out, China is totally different with the patches from our game...
 
One other lesson learned.  Have a plan for dealing the British a series of hard defeats by summer 42 or they will be back in great strength by late 42, hammering the western perimeter of the coprosperity sphere.  The reasons for this are simple.  Historically, the Brits threw away not just the 9th and 11th Indian divisions on Malaya, but also the 18th British Division, 2 more Indian Bdes, and 7,000 replacements (all arriving days before Singapore fell, unable to influence the battle).  Additionally, the 17th Indian, 1st Burma and the 80th Armor Bde were all completely wrecked in Burma.  Replacing these losses and training up the Army took the better part of 2 years.  Most Allied players will not lose the bulk of these forces (including the replacements), so they will have approximately 4-6 more combat effective divisions than the Japanese historically had to face until well into 44.

So far so good,no merchant losses after two days. Never did see Force Z and my opponent is very active with his land forces pulling out everywhere in China and Malaya. I guess he wants me to hunt his troop laden transports down with the IJN. With not a lot of large ports to go to I hope I have enough ammo to keep up.
