how do you tell where the hi land is ,i see light shade and right click in turial and said 0 slope right next to it it says 16 what up witch his the hi spot

When you right click "Z=xxx" is the elevation.   Slope is how steep the terrain is.   (more info on page 35 of the manual).

You can also hit L for the LOS tool which will show a cross section of elevation along the edge of the tool.

And there is K for the LOS area tool. It doesn't really show elevation, but since in most cases why you are interested in elevation is LOS ... well, it comes in very handy.
