I also prefer having more angle.
I'm not the best at reading contour maps, so the more help the computer gives me in visualising the battlefield, the better.
Extreme angle looks spiffy, but it's so impractical as to be silly

I can't really imagine playing ToS without the fog of war. I think it would lose something of the fun if you could immediately see where your enemy is. Half the battle is finding him and hoping he hasn't snuck around behind you.
We sometimes catch a window
A glimpse of what's beyond
Was it just imagination
Stringing us along?
More things than are dreamed about
Unseen and unexplained
We suspend our disbelief
And we are entertained

The graphics, they are so pretty... it is neat.
BTW discord. Uh, fog of war hides terrain. That's kinda what it's for. I think it should be optional, but you saying wwf is stupid is kinda fucked up. Especially since ur wrong.

WFF: the game would not function without line of sight, it just would not work, since then there would be any need for ANYTHING except extreme range weapons, the line of sight(and if you have not figured it out, line of sight, and fog of war are for all practical reasons the same thing) is still there.
hmm, although it should be optional(and settable for missions), since a good recon of the area would give rather exact layout....wich btw is worth ALOT in millitary missions....now if you could add in expected terrain, and real terrain, so that you would suddenly find a building in a map and go "HEY! that's not supposed to be there!" and get a possible secondary mission objective....just a idea....

discord: ok so you have line of sight...........but how would you be able to tell if theres a new enemy in the hex that you can't see? because if you think about it one would suddenly just "appear" into your line of sight right? so fog of war is needed to clarify that to make newer players not think the ai is cheating somehow
EDIT: i do agree however that recon is good for a battle but i can do without it as i always wing it to win battles

"Jumpjets out of fuel? ........Oh crap...." (last words of my whitefirefox jock :p)
Scanners are not used just for LoS purposes wff, maybe you should have investigated a little more. Did you notice a scanner has 2 ranges? And you know what visual sight range is? And what scanner links are used for?
And about its settability for missions, discord, the Map Editor provides ways for you to get full LoS.
