Grrr. Every time you guys post in here, it makes me take a look to see if there's a developer response.

To be honest, I'd be surprised myself it it comes out before Christmas. But I've been wrong in the past so I could be wrong again here too.

But if you want to give it a try on Vassal, I can probably dust the old app off if you're in for it.

I dunno if you guys are right or not. Seriously. Is it better to let Mark know that we're dissatisfied with the way things are progressing, or is it better to not post anything at all and let this forum die of old age? I was being sarcastic when I asked if it's time to start asking if the game will be published by this Christmas because I very sincerely doubt that it will. But hey, if we don't post how we feel about this absurdly long wait there isn't much else to post about regarding this game. Some might say that we should stop hounding Mark about the game and it will be done when it's done, but five years*??!! My feeling is that we should keep after him as he has several projects going at once and theoretically the squeaky hinge gets the most oil. Maybe we *should* start asking Mark directly if he has any plan to finish the game this year or at least tell us that he has no idea if it will be done in 2010. What do you guys think?

"theoretically the squeaky hinge gets the most oil..."

Well, you're right about that!
Still, five years development time is no exception, how long has StarcraftII been under development? Or Duke Nukem (well that is a bad example).
Anyways, we'll start squeaking, I just emailed Mark asking very polite this very same question: Is there any news concerning your upcoming pc game?
I did mail it to the staff there though, wonder if they'll get back to me/ fingers crossed.

I think at least Matrix should not keep this on its front page as a "Coming Soon" title, let alone one with a dead "Buy Now" hotlink to nowhere.

It'll be interesting to see what response you get.

Hi guys, got a prompt answer from the staff [:)]
Must say that I've been doubting as to posting their reply or not... as it is a directed to me and as such private, if you know what I mean. But as their answer is in accordance to what they've been saying on this forum, I think I won't offend them by posting it here. Doing you all a favor.

From the LockandLoad staff:

"Hello,

We expect it to be released late this year. I hope this information helps!"

So yeah, they're still working on this beauty, as I suspected. I mean, why would they stop working on it, there's nothing like it on the market as far as I know.
So hang on tight, enjoy the summer, we'll be playing this one in the Fall, yay!

Beware of the word "expect". Mark said in an interview that he "expected" it to be released *last* year. Well, anyway, at least they're actually responding.

"We expect it to be released late this year. I hope this information helps!"

And there was information that made Americans expect to find weapons of mass destruction too.

Grrrr, well at least this won't be a disaster if it turns out false this time around. Just another delay of a game title, which won't cause me loss of any sleep for a change. Actually, I'd probably lose plenty more sleep if/when this title is released. There's a good reason why the ASL variety is the worlds #1 selling squad based game world-wide.

I will say this, I EXPECT this title when/if it is released, to be nothing like that total fiasco that Hasbro did after purchasing the rights to Squad Leader.
