(1) MINE WARFARE
24 mines mopped up by AMcs off Merak. They met with 3 enemy PT Boats (Dutch?) and withdraw to Palembang. Another two DMS engaged with enemy boats withdrawing to Oosthaven after a short engagement.
17 mines were mopped up at Palembang by AMcs.
(2) AIR WAR
53 G3M2 raided at Soerabaja. NO ENEMY CAP. 15 Airbase hits, 3 airbase supply hits and 50 runway hits. Several docked ships spotted at port.
Over Batavia, 22nd Air Flotilla launched a heavy air strike with 44 G3M2 and 25 G4M1. 1 enemy bomber (139WH3) was destroyed at ground with 5 airbase hits, 1 airbase supply hits and 27 runway hits reported by our pilots.
Medan Airfield was smashed by 22 Ki-21 flying from Singapore (3rd Air Division). 12 runway hits.
2 enemy air transport L-18 aircrafts were downed by LRCAP over Batavia.
(3) ABDAFLOT SPOTTED
Enemy warships were spotted off Broome by a naval recon flight (C5M2) flying from Koepang. General Quarters sounds at airfield for all air assets. 22 G4M1 escorted by 7 A6m2 take off from Koepang bearing 220 to locate and destroy enemy ships. With bomb payload our bombers not reported any damages on enemy destroyers spotted off Broome.
