Report for December 10
Fourth Fleet Area
1 mobile striking force has refueled today from the support tanker force and will now steam west to the vicinity of Wake Island in company of the tanker force – Wake Island landing force will now leave Kwajalein Island and steam north toward Wake Island which it will occupy with the support of the carrier force.
The Raider Aikoku Maru was just north of Flint Island when she sighted 2 of the damaged Allied cargo vessels that she attack the night before – but did not engage to conserve ammunition for more high value targets.
The Guam landing force commenced its landings this morning following a shore bombardment by escorting warships and with the support of aircrafts from the seaplane Mothership Chitose the naval landing infantry will attack the American base tomorrow.
Southeast Fleet Area
The Rabaul landing force is now forming at Truk and will sail for New Britain tomorrow when the covering naval force arrive from the Homeland.
Fourteenth Army Area
Laoag was captured today by troops from 1 regiment of the 48 division and the 65 brigade – these units will now move south to Vigan where they will be meet by landings by the rest of the 48 division – meanwhile the 16 division is just departing of Homeland to land at Aparri and finally in one weeks time 14 Army will be further strengthened by 21 division from China landing at Lingayen.
Naval air service A6M2 fighters swept Clark Field again downing 5 American fighters for no loss – American B-17 Fortress heavy bombers again raided the Port of Takao in Formosa in day light- but this time did very little damage and lost 2 of their number to the defenses.
It is thought That 2 enemy submarines were accounted for off the landing beaches of Laoag – in both cases the submarines were thought to be S class boats and if not destroyed by depth charge attack then they would be badly of damaged.
Twenty fifth Army Area
Armored and reconnaissance troops skirmished with British stragglers as they advance down the rail line toward Temuloh – but there does not appear to any organized defense in front of them – Meanwhile in the north troops of the 18 division advance toward Alor Star which the enemy appears to be evacuating – to the north at Chumphon in Thailand a naval guard unit has landed and to their surprise found a British base force trying to take the town.
Naval air service A6M2 fighters swept Singapore today at long range from their base at Soc Trang in Vietnam and downed 6 British Buffalo fighters for the loss of 1 A6M2.
Fifteenth Army Area
Troops of the 55 division have begun arriving by rail at Pisanuloke in northern Thailand and will now March across to Southern Burma to drive the British out.

Report for December 11
Fourth fleet area
1 mobile striking force is moving west toward Wake Island and is now passing about 240 miles south of Midway Island – But morning air search reported signing of 11 ship force west of Midway Island in the area of Kure Island – This report was not confirmed by afternoon search but an American level bomber was reported in the same area – While this level bomber in all probability came from Midway Island - we feel there is the possibility that an American carrier force could be shadowing our force to pick off the damaged Akagi – With this in mind we have ordered aircraft carrier divisions 2 and 5 north overnight to air search this area at first light.
Naval infantry assaulted the American base on Guam today after a raid by supporting seaplanes – but the enemy was well dug in and did not give any ground – We will try again tomorrow after some more softening up by supporting aircraft.
South east fleet area
The Rabaul naval landing force will depart of Truk tonight toward Rabaul in the company of the supporting south sea cruiser force for the operation to secure the New Britain area.
Fourteenth army area
American B-17 Fortress heavy bombers escorted by over 40 P-40 fighters raided the airfield at Aparri – but because of the valiant defense put up by our army air service Ki-27b fighters damage and casualties were light.
Build up of troops and support continues in Northern Luzon and the next distribution of landings will begin at Vigan – Our air reconnaissance is reporting that the enemy is in full retreat in Northern Luzon and appears to be falling back on Clark Field.
Twenty fifth army area
15 British Blenheim medium bombers attacked at our mobile force marching down the rail trail to Kuala Lumpur – the raid was intercepted by army air service Ki-27b fighters newly installed at Kota Bharu – the fighters managed to shoot down 1 of the enemy bomber and damage 2 others – The Blenheim raid was pressed home by the enemy but luckily the aimers must have been put off because our casualties were light.

Here is of air production - you will notice that I have lost before war A6M2 production - this is stupid mistake that I make but will have to live with - luckily so far my A6M2 loss has not been too heavy.

Is quiet day as next round of landings start in next days - but 27 B-17 Fortress heavy bombers raided the port at Takao sinking the converted gunboat Kyo Maru number 11 and damaging five cargo vessels - But it cost Jon 5 B-17D Fortress lost - 3 shot down and 2 operational loss.
Just have 4 battleship and 1 heavy cruiser added to Allied losses today - that now mean I sink 5 battleship on Pearl Harbor raid.

Brief for December 14
Is another quiet day but the war is set to warm up soon - The assault on Wake Island is on run in and will attack tonight - the landings on Wake will be preceded by a bombardment by 1 mobile striking forces 2 fast battleships - then the Island will be raided by the strike forces aircraft next day.
The Rabaul invasion force is also so on final run in and will arrive tomorrow morning - the landings will be covered by south seas cruisers for in case the Australian and New Zealand navies attempt to interfere.
On Luzon and in Malaya the build up of forces continue with the second and third round of landings beginning - In both areas Jon appears to be retreating to a central bastion - I like when the Allies do this as it makes my job easier - because the last thing a want is to have my advance slowed down.
I am wondering what Jons overall stratagem is this time - as I think in the last game he was building up Java - I also like when the Allies do this as I have ground reinforcement close at hand - and any early airpower he can build up will be easily destroyed by my naval mobile and tactical air groups.

Report for December 15
Fourth fleet area
Wake Island fell today to troops of the Maizuru 2ND naval pioneer battalion and the 53RD naval infantry battalion – The landing had been supported by the fast battleships and aircraft of the 1 mobile striking force - Guam has also fell today to troops of the Kure 1ST naval pioneer battalion – this operation had been supported by the heavy cruisers and aircraft of the 2 mobile raiding force.
Southeast fleet area
Naval troops have been landing in the Rabaul area all day and will assault the port and town tomorrow – Reconnaissance of the port area is reporting only 100 hundred troops and 1 gun – so ether my reconnaissance is faulty or Jon has sea lifted some of the Australian units out.
Sixteenth army – southern Philippines area
2ND division is about to leave Tokyo loaded onto an amphibious convoy – the convoy will head south to meet with another amphibious convoy bring an artillery regiment and a tank regiment from Babeldaob – These amphibious convoys along with a heavy covering force will then assault Cagayan on Mindanao – 2 mobile raiding force will also provide distant cover for this operation.
Fourteenth army area
San Fernando in Luzon was occupied unopposed by the enemy today by the 48TH divisions reconnaissance regiment – The rest of 48TH division and 65TH brigade will close up with the reconnaissance regiment over the next 2 days – 16TH division has started to land at Aparri today and will move down west of Luzon as soon as possible – Also 21ST division is about to cross from Takao to land at Vigan when a heavy covering force is available for escort.
Twenty fifth army area
5TH division continues to advance down the railway line toward Kuala Lumpur - but it is slow going and the British will most likely withdrawal from northern Malaya before this unit can cut the main road and rail links – 18Th division is making better progress and will arrive at Alor Star in the next few of days – The Imperial Guards division is now at Singora and will soon join the 18TH division in northern Malaya – 56TH division will land at Kuantan in about 6 days time and the 4TH division is also about 6 days away from landing at Kota Bharu.
The army air services 64TH Sentai which is equipped with Ki-43-Ib fighters and based at Kota Bharu had a bad day on a fighter sweep mission over Singapore – It lost 2 aircraft in dog fighting with British buffalo and American Volunteer Group P-40 fighters – then lost a further 9 aircraft on the fight home or landing accidents.
China Expeditionary
The assault on Hong Kong continues for the second day and some fornications are destroyed – but despite air support from Canton and Formosa the British still hold the city – the attack will continue tomorrow but 2 infantry battalions have had to be placed in reserve as their casualties have been heavy.

Rabaul fall today to naval troops but only opposition was Base force unit - the 2 Australian infantry battalions reported to be there have been evacuated - I would guess that Jon has moved them to Port Moresby - Heavy radio traffic is reported at Sydney so I wonder if the Australian cruisers are coming north.
A naval air service A6M2 high sweep of Singapore downed about 15 enemy fighters while costing me 4 A6M2 - With the AVG fighters at Singapore I suspect he is trying to evacuation units to Java - this is what I think he was up to in our first game so I will plan accordingly - but if he wants to try holding air superiority over Singapore it is a good opportunity whittle down his fighter strength.

In the 4th fleet area Nauru Island fell today to troops of the 52nd naval infantry battalion
Overnight a powerful combined Allied naval force attempted to attack the transports off the Vigan landing beaches - but the Allied force was intercepted by the heavy covering force and a short range night engagement followed - The enemy battleship Prince of Wales was seen to sink along with a light cruiser and a destroyer - but unfortunately our battleship Yamashiro which took most of the Allied fire was lost.
Another naval A6M2 fighter sweep was conducted today over Manila bringing down 14 American fighters for the loss of 2 of our fighters.
