Interesting thing I noticed...

Post by Shark7 »

After playing a game and noticing that my escorts were visibly larger than my frigates something clicked.

My escort design had a lot of engines for speed and was at the max load-out size for the basic stuff...200.

My frigate design was smaller at 187...

So I did some more testing with larger shipyards. It appears so far that the graphics are scaled based on the build size of the ship designs. This explains why ships that are the same size or smaller when put into .png format for scale can end up larger than the ships that were scaled larger in by the graphics designer.

Anyone else notice this?

To be honest , I have lost all interest in modding this game because of the lack of info regarding ship sizes etc.
Huh?

I discovered recently while trying to mod a borg cube, that the wider and fatter the ship image, the smaller DW scales the ship. Long, thin ship images, are huge in comparison. I posted a report in the tech support forum so hopefully TPTB will be aware of this.
