I need to put this out there...

Close Combat – Last Stand Arnhem is a highly enhanced new release of Close Combat, using the latest Close Combat engine with many additional improvements. Its design is based on the critically acclaimed Close Combat – A Bridge Too Far, originally developed by Atomic Games, as well as the more recent Close Combat: The Longest Day. This is the most ambitious and most improved of the new Close Combat releases, but along with all the enhancements it retains the same addicting tactical action found in the original titles! Close Combat – Last Stand Arnhem comes with expanded force pools, reserve & static battlegroups, a troop point buying system, ferry and assault crossings, destructible bridges, static forces and much more! Also included in this rebuild are 60+ battles, operations and campaigns including a new enhanced Grand Campaign!

What map was it on Judge Dredd? Specific location on the map would help me too. Thanks!

Thought it was implied by the "specific area" but perhaps not. [:)]

It was the Best scenario

My troops are yellow and had LOS to the yellow arrow....past that (the other wall) I had a red arrow so couldn't even area fire

The german troops are the blue line and had LoS and LoF (effective) to my troops.

Bear in mins also my troops are in woods and behind a wall and I could not fire at the German AI but they were quite effective in destroying my unit.

My unit (rifle unit) was moving at the time, came under fire and went to ground, crawling towards the wall. When they got there, I could not fire, even though the German unit was spotted (by which unit I don't know...I presume the unit they were firing at as I had very few troops even close to the area) but I continued to take casualties from the german AI unit (which kept appearing and disappearing from view...though even when they disappeared from view, I could still see the firing lines coming from the German troops)

I'm going to drop it now if you don't mind. I'd raher get on and enjoy the game and if I get too mired into this, then it'll likely affect my enjoyment of it. So I'm calling it a closed case from here and it's over to you guys to determine if there's an issue or not.

Good luck

Billy

Okay thanks Judge Dredd. Initially I was thinking it was a map coding issue but it doesn't look like it or sound like it. Will make a report. Thanks for passing this along.

No...I really don't mind providing feedback. I don't want to take away from the enjoyment of the game...as it is great.

I just wanted to move on from this issue really. I think if I get bogged down in any one particular issue, then my enjoyment would be affected for sure.

To be fair, it could've been alot clearer had I been able to post a screenshot quicker [8D]

okay, using Judges picture

here is what I complained about

see the circle, troops sneaking get slaughtered by German troops behind wall, LOF is the white line, that is 3 walls and 2 hedges they spotted and shoot at (and Killed) targets though

while the Black lines are where two of my Squads were placed and couldn't fire back, as the walls were in the way

one of them, is almost right in line with the path the German bullets were using

(another line, do you think you could set the game up, so a Crew weapon would be set up, when it is placed ?, really a pain to have a MG in Ambush, for 10 minutes, finally see a target and then have to wait for the MG to be set up ? what has it been doing all of this time ??)

It's important to check the elevation values between the two points. Not suggesting for sure that's what you were experiencing but that might explain why there's LOS between those two points.

oh come on

being higher don't mean you can shoot and the other guy can't, if his LOS/LOF isn't blocked then your's is not either, you may have a HARDer shot, but you do have a shot

these guys are all blocked by the 2nd wall in there path, while the AI is firing though 3 walls and 2 hedges

.

and that is what we are saying, there would be LOS between the two points, not a one way view, the AI is seeing and firing though walls while the player can not

OOPS! Sorry I missed that part of your post. My apologies for misunderstanding. When we heard the first reports of being able to shoot one direction but not the other we started looking at it. Didn't realize this was a continuation of that same exact issue.

*EDIT* in reply to your second post. Yep we totally agreed when it was first reported.

It's being looked at...

I just tried the best battle and got LOS to those areas, my teams were behind the wall as indicated by judge

It often seems like you and Oddball have a different build than us common folk...

The version I'm showing is 5.60.00

same as yours?

Your build is exactly the same as mine. I downloaded the digital version to do testing on. it's the only way to get accurate results.
