Airfield Attacks

Shouldn't more support be damaged/destroyed? I've been hammering Malay with hundreds of bombers and never manage more than 5-10 casualties per raid.

Hehe, yeah, I know the frustration. As the Allies I've been blasting everything that can conceivably harbour a Jap torp bomber, but no matter what I do, some Betties always manage to sortie from somewhere and invariably sink any important capital ship in any formation I have nearby...

To clarify, I'm getting tons of aircraft destroyed on the ground, that's not the problem. It's the actual base units that should take more casualties. Right now it seems like they get a free pass.

What you need to do, is trash the AF and Port to 100% damage until it stays at 100%, then if you want to do casualties then you need to Ground attack, however don't bother doing this unless there are no supplies because 1 AAA unit can ruin your day.

Bombing at 4000 feet seems pretty nasty... I wonder if they flew that low historically?
If you gained knowledge through the forum, why not putting it into the AE wiki?

Historically I think 2E's did, B-25H's were known to fly at 100ft and skip bomb and even para frag bomb the runways. They carried 20x 100lb bombs that had para's so the plane could avoid the blast, but also have pinpoint accuracy.

4E's on other hand, don't think they did.

Well, if AA was expected, mediums went in at treetop. One run, line abreast and then out of there. Not always but it was considered a good way to survive.

I think it's beyond silly for us to be setting altitude anyway.
