Unfortunately the Metro doesn't go everywhere......[:D] If you live in DC , sometime, somehow, you are going to have to drive. And it's not as bad as other big cities....Boston and NYC come to mind. DC drivers aren't as agressive, just a whole lot less competant! Almost (but not quite!) as bad as Seattle![:D]

You most certainly do NOT need to drive in Manhattan. If you need to go cross town, take a cab for $20. It will still be cheaper than various tolls and parking (if you decide to pay).....and certainly save you much sanity (if you decide to find curb parking).

In Boston, however, you put your life on the line pulling out the driveway. [:D]

Best Bonds imo:

1) Who else?
2) Tim Dalton
3) Daniel Craig (although not that far above Moore)
4) Roger Moore
5) George Lazenby

My ranking

1) Roger Moore
2) Pierce Brosnan
3) Shaun Connery
4) Daniel Craig
5) Timothy Dalton

I have not seen the Lazenby Bond film in so many years that i can't really rank him. One of these weekends. To be fair to Dalton, he was the victim of the "PC era Bond" so that and the poor scripts colors his performance. Another dig against him is that Brosnan was the better choice from day one but of course the tradegy of it all was that he was under contract to NBC at the time so could not accept the role, so Dalton was the essentially the "runner up" Bond from the get go.

Oh well....it could have been worse....say Kevin Costner with a horrible fake British accent. eek! [X(]

Right on the money, Nik! In fact, I dont even like Connery that much. I just cant get past the idea that any self respecting woman would find his a-hole Bond to be either suave or attractive. Moore was smooth, though.

Moore is so much more English than Connery. Connery and Brosnan are both better actors than Moore, but they smack of the Celtic too much. But maybe that's my Celtic blood talking. Bond is supposed to be English and I just can't get my head around a Scot or an Irishman being English...despite great efforts on their part to do so.

Sorry, but you might want to re-read your Ian Flemming. Bond is a scot. [:)]

Actually, never read any of them. [:o]

Lots. But the truth remains: the UK is an English creation on English terms of English goals. You can't argue against it. It's simply historical fact.

Jeez. How long will it take you Paddies to get over it. [:'(]

For me the Bond is "Guts and Glory" rough and ruthless type of secret agent (with his others "attributes" on the lower side)... [;)]

Yesterday, I was sitting at our reception desk, which we share with the hematology department. I'm close with the girls who man it for hematology, and when the one on duty had just finished signing in a patient, she leaned over to me and said, sotto voce:

"That woman is 12 weeks pregnant, and she's about to have one of our doctors tell her that she has aggressive lymphoma and will have to terminate her pregnancy".

I almost threw up, right there. Hate this job...[:(]

Ahhh... darn Kristian... [:(]

BTW, when I was reading your post and when I got to "she leaned over to me and said, sotto voce" I expected to read: "Lets meet after work for some fun"...

My ex is a midwife. her 13th delivery was still born and she was unconsolable for hours after she got home.

When our youngest was in NICU ne of the nurses there confided to us that she had thought of quitting becaue of the emotional stress until a colleague took her aside and explained how she should distance herslef emotionally from the babies there and that's what helped her get through it.

It could have been worse. I could have been the doctor who had to break the news to the patient; then I'd have had something to whine about...[:(]

My wife is a veterinarian, and after listening to some of her stories, I know I'm not cut out for the medical field at all, much less human medicine.
