Bridge Blowing

Close Combat – Last Stand Arnhem is a highly enhanced new release of Close Combat, using the latest Close Combat engine with many additional improvements. Its design is based on the critically acclaimed Close Combat – A Bridge Too Far, originally developed by Atomic Games, as well as the more recent Close Combat: The Longest Day. This is the most ambitious and most improved of the new Close Combat releases, but along with all the enhancements it retains the same addicting tactical action found in the original titles! Close Combat – Last Stand Arnhem comes with expanded force pools, reserve & static battlegroups, a troop point buying system, ferry and assault crossings, destructible bridges, static forces and much more! Also included in this rebuild are 60+ battles, operations and campaigns including a new enhanced Grand Campaign!

Bridge Blowing

Isn't there menat to be a timer thingy - letting me know how long I have before the bridge "can" be blown?

I suppose the reality is they never knew...so if it's not included for reality, then fine...I just wanted to know if it is about, but I missed it

The allies can't see the German arming timer. i.e. the countdown timer before the German player can destroy the bridge. It varies depending upon map or difficulty level.

It appears that the bridge demo timer only varies by the difficulty of the allied player setting, the german dif does not seem to affect the timer

Based on the "line" difficulty the bridge timers are as follows:

Arnhem Rail - 3:00
Arnhem Road - 20:00
Best - 4:00
Blankenburg - 5:00
Grave - 7:30
Hatert - 5:00
Hueman - 5:00
Honinghutie - 5:00
Nijmegen - 20:00
ravenstein - 5:00
Son - 2:00
St Odenrode - 10:00
Veghel - 5:00
Westervoort 5:00

Looks like the levels are affected as follows compared to the line level:

Recruit - time is 50% more
Green - time is 20% more
Veteran - time is 80% that of line/or 20% less
Elite - time is 66.7% that of line/ or 33.3% less

re: Arnhem Road - 20:00 & Nijmegen - 20:00

When using the recommended 15 minute time vs. the AI, the German player couldnt blow theose bridges during the first battle on those maps. He'd have to wait until the second battles when the bridge timers reset to 00:00

Yea I noticed that as well and checked it out a couple of times, it appears that the germans have to occupy the Arn Rd bridge and or Nij Bridge map a turn before the bridge can be primed for demolition, whereas the other bridges are primed from the start, Ive been playing with the 15 min timer as well.

Interesting link, I had heard about that before, but no relation, Im about hour and half away from Fairfax

Haha, sorry to spoil the mystery for everyone, but thats critical info if your starting a GC as an allied player in H2H and want to use it, chalk it up to Dutch intelligence or Bletchley Park if you want

Germs have to occupy an unprimed bridge map and control the bridge VLs for one turn only if an Allied BG is already on the map. Otherwise, any non-static German BG can move onto a unprimed bridge map and prime it in the same turn...even if the map is unoccupied but Allied-controlled.

Was thinking Bunny cuz of the location and that the old Atomic MS Access data tool, direct descendant of the current CC workbooks, was named 'Stoli'.
