Bad luck at Pearl

Post by LargeSlowTarget »

Just have started a new game with DaBigBabes and got nasty results at Pearl. I think I'm going to restart...

Fog of War. Unless you're the allied player... [;)]
If you gained knowledge through the forum, why not putting it into the AE wiki?

+1 ... Its just a flesh wound, and it was a two day result.

You are fine. Play on...

I would have to say that I do not see this as a particularly harsh result.

Healthy battleships are useful. But I've never seen much of a trade off between sunk battleships or badly damaged battleships.

Badly damaged battleships consume resources at a time when resources are most scarce, yet provide a benefit when the battleships are repaired (late 1943) when benefits are the least useful.

I think I would be relieved to be rid of them at no fault of my own.

In my first ever pbem game as allies i lost all the Battleships at PH (over 2 days). Sucks but isn't that bigger deal. Just have to be a little more careful with the BB's you do get.

You'll be fine. It will hurt mostly in your early 1943 offensives (assuming they would be damaged and unavailable anyway in 1942), but by 1944, you start getting a parade of new BBs, particularly UK ones, not to mention piles of carriers.

Ask Canoerebel, I think I got a pretty good PH result in our game.

You don't need to restart

Well, I must have started scores of GC games in WitP and AE (after almost every beta and official patch, each new version of the WitP-CHS mod, various AE mods...), but I have never seen such a devastating PH strike until now.

I'm confident I could win despite the losses of all those old BBs (it is a game against the AI anyway).

But I like black shoes, if you catch the drift [:)]

So I have taken the 'spineless' option and restarted with the Dec 8th version of DaBigBabes...

Besides, those old battlewagons become very valuable for bombardment later.
