Experience the full depth and detail of large turn-based strategy games, but with the simplicity and ease of real-time, and on the scale of a massively-multiplayer online game. Honestly, if there is one thing that has nothing to do with gameplay that this game does better than any other game i've seen, its the civ name generator.
It may be a simple code-job, but the results are so, so, spacey and awesome [:D]
Especially with your own custom starname files, since the civs often use their homeworld / world-they-rebelled-in in their name!

Just listen to these awesome names, and agree (or die!)

Alpha Serpentis Republic, rebelled from Yed Posterior Consortium
Al Fawaris Authority
Eltanin Territory
Becrux Minor Republic (of course this just refers to the starname "Becrux Minor", but has the effect of suggesting that it's the republic that is minor)
Achernar Hegemony
Royal Wei Dynasty
United Zenox Empire currently at war with the newly rebelled Zenox Alliance (LOLZ [:D])

Hyperion Invaders (pirates)

It's good.
I also, like the Master of Orion 3 (yes) naming system of using the race name and some seemingly random word. Often the words are funny or very cool, and alien.
Wish list:population centers beyond planetary(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Culture):Ships,Ring Orbitals,Sphere Orbitals,Ringworlds,Sphereworlds;ability to create & destroy planets,population centers,stars;AI competently using all advances & features.

I hated the Moo3 version, I always had trouble identifying a race by their name :(
This one is very well done :)

Yes. You're right. I always enjoy the way civs, ships and bases are named in this game more than any other I can think of.

And how the same object can be named differently.. Earth Defensive Battery, Earth Defence Base, Earth Defence Outpost, etc.
Any other game would just have settled for "Defence Base", for every and all base built. 1 name per object :P
