cveta, I have taken a look at Coastal Defences stats and it's about twice (or more) stronger than a single flak!
so ... I don't get it either.

As for subs - sneaking in (and out) of a port was hard only if there were some enemy destroyers or planes nearby.
Even then a good submarine captain could get out alive - and possibly sink some cargoships, too.
But an attack on a undefended (or under-defended) port is a piece of cake! You can shoot from miles away - and get a certain hit!
all those cargoships nicely lined up - with all the time in the world to prepare the shot ... it's submariner's heaven!

Well this turn went good for Germany.
West forces in France were attacked and forced to run with their tails betven their legs.
Look at the screenshot with casulties from France theathre.




Small attacks in Norway and Finland went bad for us. Norway is lost becouse of naval blocade of Oslo
General Kondor did some exelend encirclement moves in N. Afrika last turn but now we completly destroyed his forward units, so Romel did it again ( but this wont help him much in the end). Also West cariers in Med.see sufere some loses on attack on Tobruk. LF score anather wictory. USA BB destroyed.
Ivan tray attack near Dnepropetrovsk. His forces were anhilated. Large encirclement is option there,so gen.Kondor - carefuly
Also Su relief attack toward Leningrad is stoped. Only part of Su where Ivan may advance is toward Smolensk. But let him come.

Japan have some problems with partisan in China, but rebelion will be put down in blood. Bejing ( hold by partisans at the moment ) is almost completly surounded. Chines armies start offensive toward Hanoi. We will see how this will end. Reinforcements on the way.
Attack on Singapore reduce defenders to few rifle and staff. City will fall next turn unless West did some miracle move.
Main JA fleet withrow last turn faking weakness. West grab this chance and as we all see did heawy demage on our cargo fleet, but again we have an adventage since we spot them with ease. This time we attack and score minor victory.

This attack relive us position of USA land fighters.They were unprotected so we land few inf. and take the air fild together with planes on it. With this move JA improve the oods of the battle and turn minor wictory to a clear one

Congratulations to Cveta on killing those FT-s on the ground. I didn't expect that IJN has tranport capabilites near by, but few destroyers where loaded and did the damage...

Admiral Halsey Pacific fleet whitdraw for resupply and reinforcements. IJN has to many CV-s, giving them an advantage and I didn't want to risk losing my fleet now... In retreat I did manage to kill IJN sub. group.

Pacific theater of war is funny[:)]. I did retake Enewetak. On some southern island near Guadelcanal Japs controled southern port on island, and I controled port on northern end.
Japs moved to vacant northern port and thus clearing me the south port. Which I have used and disembarked on southern end[:D]. War is funny somethimes...

Real heroes this turn where those two IJA Ft-s I on Hanoi... they fly like heroes and I take my hat down to them...

WA manage to secure port in Brest. And altough German propagande talks about victories, they will have to divert more forces to that front, or WILL risk losing wesetern France.
Anyway SU will gain with this WA move...

SU battlefield is interesting...

I did arty bombing followed with an attack on Finns+Gerries in the wood north of Leningrad. And losses where about equal. I am unable to clear that area. And Germans seems to avoid attacking the town and are moving towards Murmansk/Moscow instead?
Heroic man and women in Leningrad are to good for ragtag GE army?[:D] Chikens![:'(]

Most of the fighting was near Smolensk. I attacked with lots of units and have made GE run. But losses where equal (giving that GE tech is vast superior I call that a victory [;)]).
One step away from Moscow...

Dnepropetrovs campaing ended in blood. Cveta put a good defence there, I attacked with everything I could muster last few turns but GE officers saved the city.
This turn LW followed with ground attack killed last Siberain unit, so I called off the futile attack... Well not entirely [;)]... I did a farewall attack on GE arty hiding on the other end of the bridge.[:D] It seems that fieldmarschall Cveta understimated transport capabilities of my soldiers...

What?? Ivan can svim? I never thought that undermensch coudmuster swiiming after so meny of them drowned in all the rivers we crossed so far. Anyway - I will miss thouse guns. They score so many kills that they cannot paint any more tanks and soldiers on their barrels. At the moment we produce large cannon wich may fire from Berlin to Moscov. And I will operate it personaly. And I will s..t on any granade I send to comerade Stalin in the name of our death heroes.

Norway is lost. Last Germans were evacuated including Costal batteries. I hope that once we will get back, but now there are important battles to fight.
France - all partisans finaly destroyed. Anather USA unit with med.tank wiped out. Exelent for our new soldiers to get expiriance. France now holds Brest and 2 hexes. No doubt that air attacks will be firce now.
In Africa Rommel still hold a line. I will add fewscreenshots with comments from Afrika and Su

East front is realy interesting. Ivan withrov from Dnepropetrovsk and Leningrad. Germans closed Leningrad once again.
Su armies advance toward Smolensk, but German ordered fighting retreat in that area,but simultaneusly forces are advancing tovard Moscov from West and South.
I wonder what will Stalin do now?

Japan forces finaly put down rebelion in Bejjing. Lots of rebels are killed,the rest surendered and were transported to works camps. Now they produce wepons for us.
I hope that increased partisan activity will end with this.
China launch a mayor offensive tovard Hanoi and in central Asia. Japan did some counter messures and force some of China soldiers to Withrov from Hanoi. But China will continue this offensive.
Singapore finaly taken.
USA main fleet run away and we coudnot find them so no mayor battle hapened. Instead JA spoted and sinked 6 DD near New Zeland. Also 1 LRLC is put down.
I will post a SS with number of casulties for all of future JA players to avoid my mistakes. All cities on main land must be garnisoned with more than 20 pp becouse of passibility of air attack and casulties. This leads to rebelions so lost of only 1 rfle in a city wich was garisoned by 20 rifles means death to them all. Also cities rebell and partisan units appears.

My esteemed advirsery last turn attacked with Luftwaffe Leningrad again. This time I think that this was an infrastructure bombing as none of mine units where damaged. My AA did solid job again.
Leningrad is surounded once again.
I did arty attack on eingeneer unit/mortar unit in swamp southeast of city so attack over the river from that direction will not be possible. And thus I don't think that Cveta will try a frontal attack...
City is safe for now...

I had a bold plan to baldly go with lot's of bold men and women to the road of boldliness[:D]. And so my bald army reached a point will we continue drive to Smolensk or head back to Moscow.
One bold guy said let's go to Smolensk, we have already been in Moscow-I don't like hairdresser there... [:)]

So push onwards to Smolensk is ordered. City itself with GE nice officers, artillery, aircrafts was shelled, and remaining bridge destroyed. Not a bad deal. Then I orederd my recon unit (few armoured cars/cca 5 mortars/cca 20 riffles II) an attack on eingeener (around 40 of them) unit south of city. That would isolate the city for that turn and cut supplies... But those eingeenrs had an Rambo, Chuk Norris, John Wayne and Wild Bill Hickok amongst their ranks because they stoped that attack with ease and dealt my forces a lots of damage...[&:][X(][8|]

Gerries are advancing south and from Leningrad front towards Moscow, but I am confident that SU will hold quite well...

China is doing really well. Despite a loss of Beijing for which I hoped that it will last few more turns...
Hanoi defence si broken and the city is surounded... Lots of casulties to Japs. Artillery did the major task of softening IJA and my soldiers then moped the floor with them...

My major concerne in this game is Japs. victory conditions. It is to easy for Japs to win this scenario and it is a good thing that in version U3 that has been made little harder.
I must admit Cveta played a great game with Japs, and I did fall short on my defence of Australia/New Zealand... But other then that I did a pretty good job.
All my major CV-s fleets preserved (PAcific/Atlantic/English). And they combined cannot contest IJN for a frontal assault..+ Japs have CV III which makes them more mobile...

I still have 9 more turns. but it will be a very, very hard thing to put Japs below 111 VP I believe? Now they have more then 120...

And my CV-s III will not arrive on time to help me with that.

Maybe because I helped China/SU a lot, mybe because of few bad calls? I think that next game I will play somewhat differently and this was my first as WA [;)].

Those pesky Japs subs blocking the Suez are blocking a way to hell now[:)]

And on the end of Turkey turn (remaind me again why is Turkey an China ally that is just wacky [:'(]) I got a note which froze me. I taught-NO pls dont crash on me now![X(]
I played for a cca 2 hours (did a WA turn late yesterday) and I would be very, very angry if I had to do all over again...
Never before I recived such an error from AT, I do sometimes get one when bombing the brdiges I believe, but I am used on that one...

But error came and went. The game was saved and sent.[;)]

Well, that would take my breath away as well.
Glad you played through it. I have found with AT, most of the time when you encounter and error message like that, if you simply close the message (click on the x in the upper right hand corner) the game continues with no problems.

I've examined this particular error message, which has not appeared before to my knowledge, and can find nothing wrong with the code at all. Flukes happen occassionally.

Here's what should happen in that particular line:
It reads If GE is the owner of Kharkov, (after the initial round when it is occuppied) and IF GE has less than 20pp of units in it, then all GE units that are in Kharkov are eliminated.

I'd be interested in knowing if that situation was occurring or not.

This turn most fighting happened over France. Here are the air battle results of West attack on German city

Attack on freshly arrived USA troops ended with thouse results.



In SU thearhre small attack was executed in Smolensk area with similar casulties on bouts side. Advance toward Moscov was continued and small paratropers were lended ( didnot know that paras cannot land in heawy forest, it mess my plans a little ).
And small skirmishes near Leningrad,some shelling, some bombing. Lost few planes and killed a fort.

JA - reinforced Hanoi wich is in jepardise. Bombed some inf.on small islands somevere in Pacific and that is all.
