Artillery strikes

I am having trouble assigning artillery strikes to units. Air Strikes work fine, not so with artillery. Does anyone know why?

Some maps are not supported by artillery strikes ie they are out of range.

For the allies most coastal maps are within range.

we´re just at the beginning of a GC H2H. Will there be offboard Artillery on non-costal maps later? or is there only ship-artillery implemented?
i´m just curious.
and what about air support? i wonder if there was really that few air support on d-day.

If you go to the Battle editor you can see which maps have artillery support by mousing over the map diamond.
