No German option!!!

Post by Jestre »

I was all set to order this game til I saw the post noting that one could not play the german side without modding or playing multiplayer.....too bad, if a patch remedies this in the future I will buy then.

Don't worry they are going to charge you for the expansion. It's all good.

When I made a joke in the starcraft 2 thread about Matrix being able to charge extra for the ability to play both sides in a wargame I was kidding.

Same here! If mods could do it, why couldn't the developers? For what it's worth, they lost my purchase.

Yeah, not sure I want to pay £25 for digital d/l only and only be able to play one side. Plus I prefer the German machinery more, y'know, Tigers, Panthers etc!!!
Huh?

Hilarious...not to hijack the thread, but it's no mystery why Blizzard is at the top of the heap (in my opinion)...when they make a game, they do it right.

I wrote this in another thread, but I'm totally baffled as to why they would have a game like this and not give the abilibty to play as the German side...ALOT of people like playing the German side in WWII games...if it's some kind of marketing move, I don't get it...people will still buy the game, but it kind of leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

I don't think You need to mod to play Axis.  You just need to create your own scenario.
Maybe you want to "mod" the original campaign and switch to Axis side.  But that is impractical as Axis always have too many troops so you will just steam-roll over the AI.

Isn't Blizzard's Starcraft 2 the game that requires three purchases to play the full game?

Yup SC2 only lets you play Terran in SP.  All other fractions are played in MP and in the coming expansions.

Yep, that is pretty funny, but they aren't kidding. Hmmm, Slitherine, nice name, fits, I like it.

Sad thing is I do like their games, and will probably buy into this one, but the slobbering love affair may be coming to an end.

HA! Ouch...well, I spoke too soon then! I think I'm remembering back to the first SC...you could play all the races, multiplayer was free, and the game worked great right out of the box. Well, maybe this is just a trend that alot of game companies are doing...
