Both, Jonathan and me are agree to take borrowed the John3rd House Rules regarding Burma/monsoon under his permission (thank you very much, John):

Offensive operations in jungle and mountain hexes on the Burmese front should be stopped from June 1st to November 1st for the Monsoon Season, allowing R&R, unit rotations, and give both players on the front a much less bloody (and much more interesting) experience. This would mean:

- No deliberate or shock attack in the jungle hexs in the designated area
- Bombardment attacks are still allowed
- Movement into friendly or empty hexes are still allowed
- No offensive carrier operations in the Gulf of Bengal against Burma (other naval ops, including bombardment, are still allowed). Striking either Bengal, Northern India or Malaya from carriers in the Gulf is still allowed, of course.

Hexes would be corresponding to everything above the "Thailand" label within Burmese and Thailandese borders + the few jungle hexes going 3 or 4 hexes into "India" (Kohima, Ledo, Imphal area)

About air ops we will see if the engine let us to play with or without any HRs about (John forbidden air strikes except air recons but we will like to see it).

Thanks to John 3rd.
Best wishes,
Ramón

Dear Fletcher-san,

we are very proud and happy to witness again how things on all fronts are progressing so positively for the fate of our beloved Empire! His Divine Imperial Highness is very pleased, as I have learned shortly before! On your next visit to Tokyo, be certain you will get an invitation to Imperial Palace for enjoying sushi and sake together with the Emperor Himself! And one or another medal for you shouldn't also be ruled out at all!

Great AAR as always, Fletcher.

What are your plans beyond Burma?

Thank you very much LoBaron,

Well, I add an screenshot with my near future plans for the Burma/Indian Border. We are very restricted with several house rules to cross the Indian Burma border like you probably know.

1 .- During 1942, no Restricted allied unit in India may change its command area.
2 .- If Japanese forces cross the border with India, all political points spent by units of the Commonwealth can only be made to send reinforcements units to India.

Now let´s consider the political price of a Japanese invasion of India.

Obviously, these rules will allow an easy conquest of Burma and the arrival to the Indian border, this is no reason to believe that the Japanese were to attempt an invasion of India that would be interpreted by Hindus as a "liberation" of their British oppressors, this idea was substantiated by the formation of the aforementioned "Indian National Army." If the Japanese player wants to take the decision to invade Indian borders before 1944 he must also have a stock of political points (just as in the case of Australia). This reserve will be of 4,000 political points and will be relieved from the obligation to maintain it at the time they fall into his hands either Calcutta or Bombay or Colombo and Trincomalee. Also, all units of the IJA that are to cross the border with India or land in Ceylon must have at least 80 preparation points.

With all this in mind, I will not cross Indian Burma except if I get a great success at China and things goes well in Southern Area-Pacific (very difficult).

My starting plan after Burma captured is strongly defend the Burmese frontiers in the jungle hexes with fortity works and heavy units:

- 56th Infantry Division with Advanced elements at Warazup and Rearguard/Reserve elements at Myitkyina.

- 33rd Infantry división at Kalemyo (Advanced elements) and Katha (Rearguard/Reserve Elements)

- 55th Infantry División will garrison Mandalay-Rangoon and other cities with mandatory garrisons. Other elements will reinforce front line forces.

- 18th Infantry Division with advanced guards in the Burma/Indian border adjacent to Akyab with the Reserve elements at Akyab itself.

- 5th Infantry Division at Shwwebo like main Reserve of the Burma Army

- 1st, 6th and 14th Tank regiments will be the mobile reserve at Mandalay-Shwebo Area.
- Several engineers units will be deployed in the front lines to work on fortify labors.

- 3rd Air Army HQ will be at Mandalay supporting the air assets with eyes on air suppremacy.

My main target is to bog any enemy commonwealth invasion of the burmese frontiers. Several other units have been planned to this theatre (like 30th Division) but I need sealift assets to deploy South Seas forces of XVII ARMY and enough political points to transfer regiments.

Best wishes, and thank you very much for posting and comments
Ramón

And thanks for your explanations. You are a very acribic planner.
I guess the defense line will be concerted by a buildup of the airfields in northern Burma?

Or do you consider leaving them as they are to insure that the Allies have to build them up when the time of retreat has finally come?

LoBaron, very good questions :)

Main airfields will be Mandalay, Shwebo, Meitkila in Central Burma.  I´ll not buildup any advanced guard airfield -Kalymo, Akyab, ...- (they will be buidup by allied when Jonathan will decide to invade Burma from India).
Main target is air supremacy over Burmese skies. Several Sentais with Ki-43Ic have been deployed yet with no less than 150 fighters, others will be deployed soon when Java campaign will end. Until now, RAF / RAAF / AVG did a good work against my Ki-27b, but I hope to change that in few months when Shwebo will be in my hands and all air assets will be redeployed to fight for air supremacy and supress Indian Border allied airfields.

Kind Regards,
Ramón
