Battles from the Bulge v 4.1.232 Public Beta

Command Ops: Battles From The Bulge takes the highly acclaimed Airborne Assault engine back to the West Front for the crucial engagements during the Ardennes Offensive. Test your command skills in the fiery crucible of Airborne Assault’s “pausable continuous time” uber-realistic game engine. It's up to you to develop the strategy, issue the orders, set the pace, and try to win the laurels of victory in the cold, shadowy Ardennes.
Command Ops: Highway to the Reich brings us to the setting of one of the most epic and controversial battles of World War II: Operation Market-Garden, covering every major engagement along Hell’s Highway, from the surprise capture of Joe’s Bridge by the Irish Guards a week before the offensive to the final battles on “The Island” south of Arnhem.

The HQs leading the charge was a case of a late change by me that mistakenly reversed an if test. One of the problems when you are trying to do too much too quickly with too little sleep. My bad. [:)]

Dave,

I had a friend who sent (programmatically) more than $1M USD {1980s value} in the wrong direction on a wire transfer between banks due to an incorrect sign. Fortunately, he caught and reversed it before the session closed. So, cheer up, Dave. It could have been worse. :)

Sorry for being a bitch but what is going on with the final fixes Arjuna sent to Matrix a number of days ago? I'm sorry, I just don't get it. Is Matrix a big black hole or something?

As a customer you have every right to inquire.[:)]
The beta team was only able to download it Friday, and I don't think Matrix works on the weekend. I was able to playtest for several hours this weekend and I do see some improvement on the HQ leading the charge issue. Hopefully they will upload it today.

We're waiting on Matrix at the moment. Please be patient. BFTB is only one of their products in a busy schedule.

MATRIX GAMES is starting to remind me of the Wizard of OZ....."don't pay attention to that man behind the curtain"...seems like a one man show and that one guy must be on vacation. I look around the site and i don't see so much going on that they can't get a "beta" patch out for their best war game.

From what I can tell, a lot of game publishers and game studios have had to cut back in this mega recession because people aren't buying as many games. I've heard that both Dave and Paul at Panther had to find full time jobs to supplement their income. I know of several other developers who have gone back to do contract work because they can't make ends meet with their game sales. It's very possible that Matrix team members have had to follow suit.

I guess we just need to be patient and supportive and hope that all of these entities are able to survive and keep our hobby alive. As gamers we also have to be willing to spend some money too. I know I have cut back on how much I spend on games by about 60%. If we are all doing that, I imagine it is hurting this industry significantly.

I'm looking forward to getting past these economic times and to a more normal lifestyle again.

I'll be back

SITREP

Yesterday we were finally able to fix a significant bug - ie the one that locked up the formation movement. I have asked Matrix to hold off on uploading the latest beta patch. I should have a new build to them by the end of the day. Thanks for your patience.

Just checking back to see if it's up yet. I really want to start a new game but I'm waiting for this particular fix. I realise that no one cares but I think Arjuna, and especially the customers, deserve better that this.
