You use the bitmap Graphics - maybe you have turned .png support on, bur left your .bmp graphics in your AltGraphics Directory. The problem might be more in the graphic file than the game itself. Is there a common feature other than open (tiles_misc.bmp) in the affected hexes? From what i see it could be the brass and silver cursors.

(Btw. (totally off-theme, but..), it seems to me that you have 4GB of RAM installed but can only access 3 GB - shared graphic RAM = 2.66 GB:
Total Physical Memory 4.00 GB
Available Physical Memory 2.66 GB

is your Vista 32 bit?)

No, that's about right. My system eats around 40% for what I have going. When I get rich I'll stick in some more. [;)]

Oops, forgot. 64 bit. And png support is off.

Then the problem is in the files i guess. Rename the AltGraphics folder and see what happens.

Nope. Still there.

It's not a game stopper but it is highly annoying as I'm not a big fan of the washed out graphics look. [;)]
