Game will no longer start

My game will no longer start up. I was playing (on, of course, one of the best games I've ever had) when everything started to get a bit sluggish- sounds coming late, menus not responding... Closed the game down and tried to restart, and the error messaged posted below came up. I uninstalled the game and reinstalled, and the message came up again. Well, I LOVE the game, but looks like I won't be playing any more...

OK- I "re-re-installed" and I am back up and running, though the game would not load my last saved game. It did take the previous save before that, so the corruption or whatever happened between the last two saves. Thank the gods I back to playing... [&o]

Did you change your designs.txt file? If so, Igard and I have been having a similar situation. OR are you playing the base Distant Worlds game?

No changes- just the base game. As I said, I'm back up and running now, but it took two re-installs to do it. (The first time, I hadn't deleted the old App Data file- I think that's why it didn't run after the first re-install...)

i had that same problem, and i found that deleting everything left in the distant worlds folder after the uninstall fixed the problem
