Kamikaze modelling - editor question

Post by Nemo121 »

I have a question about kamikaze modelling in the editor....

Basically I want to model some of the Peggy kamikaze conversions during the late-war period in which the bomber was simply packed with explosives and had a contact trigger installed in the nose.

Anyways I am wondering if there is anyway to make the plane act as a kamikaze without actually giving it a bomb. I seem to remember in WITP days that kamikaze damage inflicted was calculated by the game examining the MAX LOAD of the plane and not the actual weaponry it was carrying.

If this was so it would be possible to create kamikaze-only planes by giving them no bombs but an appropriate payload ( 4,000 lbs or whatever ).

So, I'm just wondering if anyone can confirm that kamikazes do use MAX LOAD to determine damage alone or is it necessary for the kamikaze to have a bomb carried as well?

Ok, thanks... That's a pity because I was hoping there would be some way to have kami-only planes which simply couldn't be used as ordinary bombers...

Ah well, c'est la guerre.

That'd have to be done in the unit tab instead. Pre-define the unit using the plane as a Kami squadron.

Aye I could do that but I'm simply looking to make a way to allow the late-war Japanese to make kamikaze-only planes.

My idea is to allow specific models of planes which may be a bit cheaper than other plnes because they are kami only and can ONLY be used for kami attacks. The idea is to give Japan increased kamikaze capability in the late war but NOT to give them increased normal attack capabilities as I wish to guard against unbalancing of the production model.

You should be able to just set a group to Kamikaze with a plane carrying no bombs.
