AI this and No German that

A turn-based strategy game like no other has landed. Approachable, absorbing and visually impressive yet detailed, Battle Academy aims to revolutionise the strategy games market with a blend of intuitive design and compelling game play driven by cutting edge technical innovation. The game has more than 30 battles in a range of theatres of war from the North African desert through D-Day to the to the snowy Ardennes mountains where the Allies battled to repel the final German offensive. Now with additional battles on the Western Front with the expansions 'Blitzkrieg France', 'Market Garden', 'Operation Husky', 'Sealion' and 'Rommel in Normandy'.

And I would be one of those 100 (likely more by the end of the day).

Turn one my Marder is cherry picked just like that by a Spitfire, never had a chance, like he psychically new it was a good spot to put something. Oh well you move on. Not a thrilling way to start the battle though.

I scam the first entry into town (Matildas are slow eh).

I decide my opponent likely can at least make the edge of town, but no one there (it seems) when my Stuka strikes though.

I invest the town (infest I suppose if you are not me).

I see a reasonable Stuka target and WTF! and he shoots my Stuka down!!

Now it's really personal :)

Oh well, I am exchanging blows with him and doing the ugly on his infantry. Doesn't make me happy yet.

But finally the tide might be turning. My armour is picking off his. Seem Crusaders and Honeys don't hold up well to tank fire.

Not counting my chickens yet though. I have two Matildas that need to go before I get cocky.

I still have dominance in town, but my luck could fail, or not, you never know eh.

It's not like the game gives you 10 or 20 tanks either, you get 2 or 3 tanks of any given type if you are lucky. Use them wisely, you WILL miss any losses. It's like chess in that respect, only so many key pieces. And you need those pawns (infantry) too.

Not to mention, tanks suck at finding infantry, and if the troops are told to shut up and not fire, they can be nearly invisible (which I notice a lot).

Why should I be the only one bothered by it eh.

I might even buy this game if it wasn't for the blowhard pushing it while he demeans everyone else. Doesn't this board have any moderators any more? Matrix, your sales are being impacted.

Explain how I have even remotely, even in the slightest come even the most microscopic increment close to breaking even the most insignificant rule of the forums?

You are angry I think playing just the AI lessens the game?

How on earth is that capable of being spun as an infraction?

How about your repeat references to me as a 'blowhard'?. Might you be in line for a reminder of personal attacks being a violation?

Sales at risk? Hardly, the forums 'I' am reading are talking all about how great the game is. It is a great game.

If you refuse to buy this game, it's YOUR choice alone. And you WILL be the only one suffering.

And I AM reporting you for the insults. Not that I need to. Been called a lot worse than a blowhard. But if you're going to stomp around all high and mighty, be prepared to get held accountable for YOUR actions too.

I think he is mainly referring to your first post in this thread. Although it does not break any rules of the forum that I know of, it was a bit brash and judgmental of certain players.

You have to admit though the price is pretty high for a childrens game.I think Actung Panzer has better graphics, more realistic not so cartoon like.

This is as much a 'children's game' as chess is.

As I am currently demonstrating to 3 players simultaneously now :)

It's most definitely not a childrens game. The visuals are designed to be approachable, and to allow those of us who used to love Commando comics to reminise a little. But the game model has significant depth, and we like to think that it rewards realistic tactics. But it's always a balancing act on how Groggy to make it.

But others who have played the game will and have given their own takes on the game.

Cheers

One is far, far too many. Does this forum have an ignore function? This used to be a pleasant place to visit, full of intelligent and polite wargamers.

It's been seven days since that last post. Let it go.

Yeah I noticed that after I posted,......but I meant that it might stop the comments,....maybe some people hadnt seen the other post.

Back to the game............

I am waiting on the demo.............hopefully it wont be too much longer. I am curious to see what the game is like, since nobody has had anything really negative to say about the game itself.

You can also use our tiny system tray app which will inobtrusively let you know when you have turns waiting. Like a good butler.

We didn't realise that people wanted Hotseat so badly, so I am looking into it. Oddly one way to make it work quickly might be to just let people play themselves over PBEM. It works - I hacked it in to check ;).

Cheers

Could you please explain how to do that? [:)] I tried but haven't managed to make it work yet?
