what are the requirements/constraints to enable a succesful overun or close assult by a unit(s)?
Sometimes they work like majic or are not allowed. It would definately help to know to avoid the current hit and miss approach.

Minimum requirement is it has to be a tracked vehicle against a soft target and enough movement points to accomplish the task. Also must have low surpression and pass the experience check when called upon. Thats about it in a nutshell.

I believe it is also preferred if your target is retreating or routed. You don't overrun a ready engineer squad and live to talk about it...

I believe it costs 9 or 10 movement points to overrun.
