LCU vanished

Post by afspret »

I'm making my own mod to Ironman and I messed with the New Caledonia Det. by changing it from an infantry unit to a base force, complete with its own TOE (slot 2471, after the last Russian unit). All I did was to add some AV & Naval Spt and made sure to change all the designations to show it as an engineer unit and a base force.

The problem is, after doing this, the unit is not on the map at Noumea when I start the game and can't be found anywhere. I've tried setting the delay as 0 and as 411206 but still nothing. I checked the LCU section of Noumea in the locations section of editor and its listed there, along with a XIII Air Force unit. I've even completely deleted the unit and re-built it from scratch. but still nothing.

I've stared at the unit screen until I've gone cross eyed and gotten a headache and can't see anything on it that looks different from any similar allied unit.

The TOE slot might be a problem.

The TOE slot should not be a problem, I have used the same slot for TOEs in my mods.

However, it is not necessary to create a TOE for the unit.

Try to rebuild the unit exactly as it appears in the vanilla scenario. Then change "Type" to Engineer unit, "Suffix" to Base Force, and add Aviation Support and Naval Support as desired. Don't make any other changes. (In my mod, I also removed "Det" from the unit name, so it is now called "New Caledonia Base Force")

Thanks. I tried what was suggested several times, but in the end, I found it was Prim Unit designator for the Tahiti Det. that was messing everything up.  Once I changed it to 0, I got the New Caledonia unit back.  Go figure!
