We had a small hiccup in the process, but it should be available by Monday.

Have just received the game after 5 days wait, having paid £33 for the physical shipment. I then find I have to pay a further £16.60 to UPS for what is described as Import Vat (£5.60) and brokerage surcharges (£11.00). I live in Blightly but this puts the cost of the game up to £50 quid and makes it rather expensive to say the least. I have many Matrix titles but it is only in the last year or so that these additional charges have appeared. Can someone tell me why as I don't want to resort to E-Bay to buy my games in the future.[X(]

Hello,

I'm sorry you incurred extra import and tax charges . Unfortunately, this comes back to a change in how Digital River fulfills the physical copies. Because of a serious issue in the UK warehouse, we had to start fulfilling orders from the US warehouse for all physical copies. In some cases, this causes additional charges for overseas customers depending on how their customs look at the shipment.

We've actually been working with DR to resolve this issue for most of this year without success and with growing frustration until recently. The good news is that we think we may finally have a solution, but it remains to be tested next week and we really won't know if we can start shipping from the UK again until it's tested.

Regards,

- Erik

I've been wondering about this since my last games has been shipped from the US. I thought it was OK as long as customs did not intercept it which would have made me quite an unhappy customer. I would actually have expected you guys to pay for any additional cost (seriously, since I don't temember it saying it would not be shipped from the UK and VAT already makes the games feel expensive. VAT is taxes so to pay again would make me upset). Still happy though since customs does not seem to care about 15 USD value packages.

Erik many thanks for the prompt reply.

I hope the issue in the UK warehouse is not because of the British workforce but some other technical problem.
If only I had ordered next week and it may have been cheaper, although I just couldn't wait any longer to try this much hyped game. It would have been nice if U2 thoughts were carried out but lets hope this issue is resolved as I have my eyes on a number of forthcoming titles in your production line.
Once again thanks for the reply and this great site which is extremely helpful and informative. I'm off to start Battlefield academy for the first time.....
