New Consts.csv & Mod Compatibility

Post by AH4Ever »

While playing my mod, Hexagon Wild for the 1st time in v1.03. I discovered that Carrier Groups were unable to recon land hexes. This lead me to check consts.csv to see if any of the changes I had made were to blame. I was comparing entries in two different consts.csv and I noticed it is slightly different for v1.03. I updated my mod's consts.csv to the new format but Carrier Groups are still unable to recon over land.

I don't know if there is anything that can be done, since we are talking about a mod and not an official scenario. Still I thought it couldn't hurt to ask.

I also noticed that the section for Port Size required for naval units to Deploy or Enter in the new consts.csv, the actual values are shifted 1 column to the left.

That's funny as I don't see a problem at all and it has been working correctly for me on both subjects.

Since you changed the Nuke Range maybe you messed up the file.

Works just fine for me in vanilla or the Rising Sun.

My problem is the extened ship bombarment range issue

The problem is with my mod only, but it seems to be a matter of compatibility because Carrier Groups worked well with v1.02

As for the shifted values it won't stop the game it just makes it easier for the various ship types to enter or deploy.

If there is any problem it would be with Amphib since that column has no value entered.

ok.. I make it easy for you check this:

#Ships air attack range (int);;;;;;;;;;;;;
5;;;;;;;;;;;;;

If that is correct... in your file then...

I can't read Greek so I do not know how else to fix it unless I am there siting and discussing it.

Just too hard diecpering problems on internet.

Plus I may not have an answer other than re-install.

Sometimes crap happens and then the re-install works.

Frustrating as we want to know why and how it happened.

Oh crap... I mis read.

try this

#max % aberration of recon from carriers results;;;;;;;;;;;;;
50;;;;;;;;;;;;;

is that setting correct?

ORIGINAL: Razz

50;;;;;;;;;;;;;

I appreciate your attempts to help, but you should take a look at the new consts.csv

The section you mention above has been replaced by:

#bombardment range;;;;;;;;;;;;;
2;;;;;;;;;;;;;

This is from the Pacific Campaign consts.csv, it will vary in other scenarios due to scale.

I don't know why you think it matters but I don't read Greek either.

There are no "shifted values" in port sizes. It looks like this with grid and text formatting:

Recon from Carrier Groups is not possible because now in v1.03 coastal hexes need to be marked. You need to assign sea zone for them, then the range of action from sea is calculated from those costal hexes. Also I will send you your map with randomized tiles.

Thank you for all your help along the way to get my mod working.

I am declaring the project finished, so I will not be troubling you with it anymore.
