If you guys would check the database before going on a design trip, I'm sure your designs would come out way better. Although the database does not have (too many) powerhouse titans (it is supposed to be *balanced* above all else, so net games are as fair as they can get), Bblue and I tried to make it as diversified as possible, with all weapons systems, nice combos, matching systems and whatever else. It is also supposed to be a solid base for you to design your own custom titans.

About the quad-AC20, you can always try designing the assault version. I'm sure all the vets have done it.

Where is BBlue?

I'd love to meet the 3v1l genius who birthed the Penetrator and Crucible. My goodness that man is like the uber Kami-sama of ToS design!

And yes, I generally check the database these days first :D

That's why I'm not designing as much as I used to. I am keen to find out about the ECM stealth effects in WS. I've been working on a Stealth ToS prototype called the 'Ninja'

Not finished with it yet. I need to find a way to make it...less crappy.

Yes, yes it is.

Actually, for the record, the Ninja is the first titan I've designed that's going to have light armour. So far I've been able to convince myself that an all round spread of about 25 is OK..because it's mainly a surveillance model after all (sweats nervously)

How about you agree to design the whupass titans, and I design the hardass titans, and between us two, people can assemble the ultimate team.

I'll admit that I make brilliant Energy Weapon Sniper Titans and Close Combat Titans, but I'm pretty poor at mid range stuff, defense titans and that like - that's what you're good at.

I have yet to master the black arts of Cannons, Missiles, and frames larger than Assault. My enemies tend to die the death of a thousand tiny wounds!

I just hope one day Larkin gives one of us the nod to make some standard designs for WS - that would be utterly faboo!

Yes, the armor sux. The Pinboard says it sux, royally. I think it probably will suck. But im gonna use my newest jock to test it... (my newest, cuz i dont wanna waste a good one :))

I prefer the AC12, its got decent range, decent damage, and doesnt heat yer gun to where if you tap it, you can forge a nice looking... err... thing out of it. I hate the Wasp though. Its a joke. (Recon titan) I made a bunch of AC12 designs in 1.2.1 They were almost all on different frames, and all ownt when they were put in a fair fight. They had decent armor, at least 2 ac12s (the assault version had 4) and pretty good systems. (And I didnt prioritize Heat reg.... i was young :P) If I can find em, ill post em.

Heh, yep. :)

I tested it, its rather sucky. If it can manage to blow out a leg or arm on the first volley, it has a good chance of escaping unscathed, but if it doesnt, the other titan gets enough licks in to make my titan's weak armor a severe liability.

All in all, its a luck-based titan. If you're lucky, you can win easily with it. People like Korgmeister, however, should stay away.

I think that using cannons larger than an AC7 on a Light Titan is pretty rash. Best save the big guns for the Heavies and Assaults.

They have the slots and the wieght allowance to do them justice.

An AC 20 is a Big weapon, best carried by a big, tanklike titan.

But if you want to use an AC20 in a Light design, why not try using just a single AC20, paired with a smaller, longer range weapon as well?

The perfect example of which is the Fat Man, the ultimate in suicide Titans. Get in close enough to fire that AC20 and run like a leettle gurl.

ok i agree that the heavy and assualt titans are serious tank competitors but lets face the facts......they can't move for crap with a 20+ seconds move time on flat open terrain they're more like walking walls than tanks which i bet would move faster

now as for the shotgun and ive said this several times by now you sue it like a shotgun you fire off 1 or 2 rounds then move along more its not a stand and shoot titan like one of korgs or an uber-titan that everyone else seems to use its my hit and run titan that packs a punch (kinda of like a nod tank from the original command and conquer its light and quick but it packs a fairly nice punch against armor)

you could also consider the shotgun a 1 use L.A.W. sort of thing although it'd be mighty expensive to use it like that but hey say what you want im putting up my tired-of-the-subject wall and dropping this subject entirely

You seem to be the only one still discussing the Shotgun... I don't see why you brought it up again.
