I was on USS Constitution, at Battleship Cove, on USS Intrepid and today on USS New Jersey...
I am having a really great time, thank you for helping me finding the right choices. 20 more days to go and lot more museums to see...

+1000 bombs every other museum I have been to into rubble. You could easily spend 2 or more days there. And...its free. Don't forget to go to the aux museum also. Been a while since I did that tour, but it was where they were restoring planes and had some pretty unique stuff back there.
Can anyone who has been to that one, name another one that is better? I would like to visit it if there is actually one out there.

I've been to this one. Very nice for LCU types. [8D]ORIGINAL: tc464
The Ordnance Museum at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. It's right outside Baltimore.

Too late. I was on USS New Jersey yesterday, and on USS Olympia, today. Today was a total disappointment. 17$ for parking, another 18$ for the Museum - which was for kids to explain why a ship floats...ORIGINAL: The Gnome

Hey, if you're still in Philadelphia I can give you a number of good restaurant suggestions as well. I can look across the river and see the New Jersey from my place lol

The USS Olympia isn't that interesting, except for being my first pre-dreadnought.
I've just checked in in my hotel in Dover. I turned to last-minute hotels on expedia. On expedia.com, they don't tell the name of the hotel - but on expedia.de, they do
The last two days, I was in a very nice hotel for just 70$/night including breakfast.
Anyway, time for some land- and air warfare. Had 2 BBs, 1 CV, 2 DDs, 3 SSs, 2 PTs, one ex DDR-Missile Boat and a 200 year old frigate, so far.
Time for the other branches of military![]()

At the Air Mobility Command Museum, one of the employees added three interesting hotels to my list:
Werner Robins Museum
Polk City Fantasy of Flight
Pensacola USN Museum

Welcome to the new world, Historiker. [:'(]
See you shortly!! You do need to get to Charleston, SC though. Really. Not just for Sumter, Moultrie and the Yorktown, but just to see the Battery and the old south.

And eat some shrimp and grits at Hyman's Seafood Restaurant! My wife and I eat there at least twice every time we visit Charleston.

I'm going to be 4 weeks in the states and want to visit some museums. Can anyone recommend military museums in the US?
