Spellir's Models.

Post by spellir74 »

Hello. I'm Spellir, a 3D modeler, animator and artist for the PzC Dev Team.

This thread will show some of the things I've done for you.

When I do a model I usually do the whole series that went on that chassis.

Without further ado...

To the Proving Grounds...

10 were converted from 231/232 (8RAD) chassis in October 1942. One hundred and nine of these vehicles were built at the Büssing-NAG plant, between December 1942 and October 1943.

This variant of the Sd.Kfz. series entered service during 1942 and remained in use throughout the war.

They were issued as a platoon of six vehicles in support of reconnaissance battalions.

----------
SdKfz 234 Armored Car [_From BilH '234/02PUMA' root mesh!!_ I textured it and animated and added more faces and took some away...]

The SdKfz 234 was designed as a replacement to the earlier SdKfz 231/232 eight-wheeled armored cars.

* SdKfz 234/1: The 234/1 was armed with the 2cm KwK38 L/55 and a 7.92mm machine gun in an open-top turret. Production started in June 1944.

* SdKfz 234/2: The 234/2 ("Puma") was the first variant produced and was armed with a 5cm KwK 39/1 L/60 and 7.92mm machine gun in a fully enclosed turret. Production started in September 1943 and continued to September 1944 when production was shifted to the SdKfz 234/1, SdKfz 234/3, and SdKfz 234/4.

* SdKfz 234/3: The 234/3 was armed with a 7.5cm KwK51 L/24 and a 7.92mm machine gun in an open-top superstructure similar to the earlier SdKfz 233. Production started in June 1944 and was phased out late in 1944 in favor of the SdKfz 234/4.

* SdKfz 234/4: The final version of the SdKfz 234 was armed with the 7.5cm PaK 40 L/46 in an open-top superstructure. 12/44; Production continued until the collapse of German industry at the end of the war.

Great job Spellir!

That Pz38 is definitely an eye catcher.  [8D]

I also did most of the German Half Tracks.

All the usable ones. No FlaK, flamm, or the variable combat spotters and communication. YET.

----------------
The German Half Tracks

~>CONTENTS : 19 new Halb ketten! And mostly new custom crews.

_Body types_

-"251 early" (A-B) [A and B were the same except for viewport evolution.]

-"251" stock (which is actually ausf C without camo)

-"251 C_late" (with camo)

-"251_D" (late war; the most numerous SPW made)

_Gunned etc Versions_

...Duplicated on each of the above four body types. _Also the guns and shields change to sub variants where appropriate!!_

04 ... Kompanie kraft towing (early company command [see below])

05 ... Engineer leader/ equipment carrier.
And mit sPzBuK41 later.

07 PiWg ... Engineer's bridge variant, squad carrier.
And mit sPzBuK41 later.

09 Stummel (KwK L/24 75mm Kurz [short]) ... Kompanie Kommando
(2.5 gun types)

10 PaK36 ... Zug Kommando [Platoon command]
(2 gun types; four shield types)

22 PaK40 ... PzJg Btn's _OR_ Pz Gren Komp's PaK Wg. (late war aux SP ATG [self propelled anti tank gun].)

IMO standouts are 09 (the kwk37 early types) and Piwgs (and tools on the early hulls ;-)).

---
A 6/39
B 3/40
C 1/41 (14.5mm armoured nose plate) [!!earlier date seen!!!]
D 9/43 (09 came first)

The earliest SPWs were the/1, the /10 [zug Kom] and the /4 which towed a 75IG or PaK40, 105IG or PaK38. The 04 was replaced out right by the 09 which did the same kompanie kommander's IG job better. The 05 was first of dedicated Pionier, coming a little later than the /10 and 04.

The 09 entered only on Cs in 8/42; 09 Ds entered in 8/43 as first Ds and morphed into K51 cab mounts then curved out before end as they became the /22s (starting 12/44). (Note /22s went to PzJg Abt AND for some Divs to PzGren Kompanies where they replaced the 09s as the Kompanie kraft vehicle.) No 05 D --pioniers created a zug kraft for their needs from the 07 [I made a 251/07 D PzBuk for this duty, as they did].

---

**My included in Ostfront "Grosse Kompanie" scenario gives info how they were deployed, OOB wise.

Late '43 through '44 starts the D body (with its straight rear).

These first images are of the Pionier APC.

Note, for D body Pionier SPW only the 07 standard carrier was seen. A pionier platoon kraft/command vehicle was field fabricated from that (different radio and sometimes the PzBuK41).

And lastly the 251/22 PaKWg. Towards the end Germany put the 75mm PaK40 on everything it could.

The 09 D was replaced by the 22 (as the 04 was replaced by the 09 earlier). The 22 was issued to PzJg btn, recce btn, and to Pz Gren kompanies in loo[sp] of the 09.

I made a storyboard vid of the PzC Ostfront halb kette (like a ken burns thing).

To make the sound track, I used the storyboard prog's included Robot Amadeus (It is auto generated music!).

It is my first vid; my first youtube upload. So it is really just a probe. But some might get a kick out of it.
