Atcomic Bomb

Post by Klondike »

I am playing a PBEM game as the Americans and it is August 20th 1945.I have captured Kogashima and Nagasaki and am in the process of capturing Hiroshima and Tokushima,,My question is this: On August 13th I had access to 2 Atomic bombs and I assigned 1 B-29 group on Pagan Island an AB misson and 1 B-29 group on Saipan an AB mission but whin I got the VCR replay back from my opponent neither AB mission was executed though both B-29 groups are still set-up as AB...How long does it take to carry out the mission and does it take a certain amount of PP's to carry it out???

It's "randomized" to quote the infamous Mr. Grigsby. (as per the original manual

Nuke 'em till he glows........

........then shoot 'em in the dark.
Still playing PacWar (but no so much anymore)...

The bomber group that is assigned the atomic bomb mission should be the only air group at the base. Do not assign an air target to the base; the AB mission routine picks the target. If you're still not getting an attack, try a different bomber group, and/or a different base. I've found that some bomber groups don't seem to attack, but if I give the mission to a different group, I'll get an attack right away.
