This is truly an amazing game!!!

Post by SuluSea »

While driving last night I was thinking about Admiral's Edition, here we are just over a year in and although I feel I have the game mechanics down pretty well, I'm still learning little intracicies about the game despite playing it daily sometimes up to 6 hours . The continued support from the developers is fantastic![&o] Thanks!

D.I.S. = Drug induced stupor. Most often seen on MTV and any show that features Hollywood celebrities. See a physician for help.

G.I.S. = Game iduced stupor. Most commonly seen at home between the hours of 11:00 pm to 3:am and all day Saturday and Sunday. Most acute when WITPAE is the stupor inducing agent. Help not possible. Only a substituite can break the addiction, however, WITPAE2 is not being seriously researched at the present. Do not try other agents to break the additction. They will have no impact.
Occasionally, and randomly, problems and solutions collide. The probability of these collisions is inversely related to the number of committees working on the solutions. -- Me.

I only play it so I can whine about how broken it is.

I will let the detail of the game be the reason I ask what to some are pretty stupid questions, or what you might feel were pedestrian observations seem new to even plankowners like me.

For instance, I recently noticed if a 1000 lb aerial bomb hits an enemy SC, the message "Target obliterated" may be the displayed message..Outstanding!!

I have to agree this is an amazing game. Coming from HOI series. This game rocks. And the support from the Devs and other members of the forum is outstanding.

Heh...I'll point out my pedantic knowledge of useless trivia about the game by countering this. I've seen small craft obliterated by smaller (e.g., 250kg) bombs. Really, Bob, you should try to play this game some more. You'll learn more of the mechanics. [;)][:'(]

+1

This is one of the best aspects of this game.
I call it "the retreat". [&o]

I am often unable to shut off external stimulation. If two people start talking about two different things I start to lose focus and listen to both at once. The bigger the acoustic mess gets, the bigger the mess gets in my brain,
and I simply cannot exclude things I don´t want to focus on. Its really hard to describe, but this is making life difficult at times.
I am not really autistic, but probably have some very weak version of it (and nah, I cannot count how many toothpicks are still in the box... [:D])

One thing that really helps is to have something that I WANT to focus on. It distracts me from the surroundings.
Guess in which situations my completely useless strategies develop. [;)]

Thanks for a game thats so complex it still holds fascination and surprize over all those years and to those who keep it at that level!

I agree with the OP.  It is hard to have something this complex and still "work".  I came over from HOI3, also, and Harpoon III.  My only regret is that I have to choose between this and trying to master EU3 (can't do both).

Oh, and there was my attempt to play all the CMAK/CMBB disc scenarios in historical order.  Got to 5/42.  Maybe years from now.....but the darn future computer operating system incapatability will likely kill that.  Don't think CM2 is going to lure me back.

After growing disillusionment with all the toy-like alternatives and following months of careful deliberation ...

... I finally liberated my inner grognard and just purchased the game. Couldn't wait for Christmas. Downloading it now.

God help me.
