About John III

Post by Canoerebel »

Gents,

Out of the goodness of my heart I have designed a new signature for John III.
Encourage him to use this. For a small price I can design one for you too.

Nice. Isn't the guy in the middle of the picture a little short to play the role of John?

That's Phyllis Diller. John has long been infatuated with her. He likes to refer to himself as "Admiral Cochran" around these parts, and I understand that he named his flagship - two innertubes duct-taped together - the USS Diller. He sometimes stands on the "poop deck" and salutes while his wife lowers a plastic 2" by 3" flag at dusk. The neighbors are puzzled by this behavior.

OHHHHHHH My Goodness...I am currently in tears and near-hysterics from seeing and reading this!!!

My wife is currently on the floor in convulsions waving her little 2-3" flag! I think she might be OK...

Dan--YOU are a SCAMP! Pure Southern EVILLLLLLLLL.

As an aside--look at what Sulu Sea did to the new signature. THAT is some artwork! (Now if we can reduce the size we should be OK.

Nicely done! Kudos to Sulu Sea. [&o]

I wonder if he or others still do sigfiles for unartistic types like myself? [;)]

This was the PM I sent SuluSea:

That is FANTASTIC! My wife pulled it up and handed me my laptop and I said "WHERE is my John 3rd Reluctant Admiral??!!" It took about 3 seconds to see what you had done and I then said "THIS ROCKS!!" One extreme to the other and just that fast...

Well done Sir.

The only comment is could you try to reduce it by 33-50% in size? We need it to be smaller so it doesn't take up so much space. We could try for the 33% to start and then see...

Thanks again for the Site. I saw this painting and it perfectly fit what I wanted. All the work on RA seemed to make the picture, without question, what I wanted to use.

Warmly,
John

This note could also go for the other gentlemen who have worked to help in getting the painting to load as the signature let alone those who have taken it on themselves to simply modify the picture into something better. I truly appreciate the help and good spirit in doing so.

To me THIS is what the Forum is about. Getting good advice, helpful aid, pleasant support, and some good (or bizarre Southern behavior) laughs.

Hi John,

You might like to try downloading Irfanview (it's free) from Irfanview Home Page and you can resize this picture to what ever size you want. Its as simple as in the attached picture below.

Irfanview is a great little tool which can display any media file you can imagine and do limited reformatting such as resize, crop, rotate, convert file types (bmp/jpg/png) etc. What it doesn't do is create a picture from scratch (its not photoshop).

Best of Luck,

Try putting that back in the right hand corner. I think it would look pretty good there.
(This one is 50%. I wouldn't go any smaller).

I hope this helps....

This one at 65% and done with The Gimp.

The Gimp is a free but fully featured graphics editor. (It's daunting to the new user but very much worth the investment in time if you are interested in creating computer graphics).

Pick the one you like best.

EDIT: Excellent work by Sulu Sea. That background image really does make the signature... [&o] [&o]

Thanks all, I'm just a blind squirrel finding acorns.[;)] I tried to add some script with an Imperial Crest for John 3rd for the work he's put into his mod for the community I figure if he doesn't mind an amateur making a sig pic I don't mind doing it. All in fun.

I hope you don't mind as I had a better imperial crest (as used in IJN ship art)

(The Gimp in action again [:D])

BTW, The graphic originally came from DivePac88 and Tone so I can't take credit for creating it....

Gimp and SuluSea have done great work and it is appreciated. I really LIKE the Imperial Crest here. Will load it and be ready to rock-an-roll.

Cheers my fellow players!

Good Morning.

I want to use this version of the Signature. Could you shoot me an email with the address of the picture so I can load it onto 'My Profile?' Just send to my home email: jrc_3@msn.com.
