When watching the movie "Midway" and see 4 Japanese fleet CV sunk in mid '42 at a cost of a single Allied CV, your first immediate thought is that the movie was clearly written and directed by an Allied Fanboy.

When instead of drinking and watching baseball, you are throwing every 3 and 4 letter word at the PC trying to figure out the Japanese production system.
/Yeah thats me right now, i can't figure any of this crap out.

You look out the window during a road trip at some trucks on an army base and think "ooh, motorized support."

Edited to delete everything I said because I said it so inartfully and, every time I edited to make it read better, I just made it worse.

1. When you're on Skype and your non-gaming buddy says he's visiting his uncle in Kuching, and you reply, "What a coincidence--I just landed the Australian 9th Division there this afternoon...errr...uhhh....[crickets chirping]."
2. When you're the American captain of a pub quiz team and you know the body of water between Australia and New Guinea is the Torres Strait. "How the hell did you know that?" asks the token Aussie on the team.
3. When your same non-gaming buddy says he has a job lined up in Xiamen, and you ask what the traditional name of that city is. "Oh, Amoy, sure, I know where that is."
4. When you are absentmindedly thinking about the production numbers for the Kawasaki factory in Gifu or the Mitsubishi factory in Nagoya while you are making a sales call to that factory.
Cheers,
CC

War, teaching us distant geography for the past two thousand years....
You know you play too much AE when your dastardly plan to take the Malaysian peninsula rapidly results in a question from the girlfriend as to which side you are commanding. When you answer, the IJA, there's a period of quiet after which she reminds you that according to your timetable her home town will fall on D+5 and asks "WHy would you do that?"
It really is so much bloody easier playing the Allies now. At least I don't get into trouble for taking Malaysia anymore. With the Allies it is a LIBERATION and I don't have to sleep downstairs for the week. *sigh*
