Naval Battlefields

Post by Radio »

Frequently when playing a detailed Naval battle with around 20 ships a side (which I don't think is stupidly oversized) I find my tactics are constrained by the size of the battlefield. For example, attempting to pull ahead of the enemy fleet and 'cross the T' or any sort of manuvering to gain the weather gauge are a no go due to the proximity of the map edge.

This means naval battles are nearly always an attack in line abreast against a foe in line ahead.
Does anyone else find this?

Yes. It is a common complaint.
