PBEM v 1.4 - Turn ends and suddenly you are looking at other guys forces

Post by Knavey »

Twice now in a PBEM game with my brother I have been moving my forces and suddenly the screen says Computer AI moving, and then I am now the Allied player (I am playing as the Japanese). No password was required for this to happen. I have not been able to duplicate this because I don't know exactly what I was doing when the game forced the next turn on me and made me switch sides. Next time it happens, I will try to post again.

As much as it is nice to know the disposition of the enemy forces, it would be nice to have this fixed.

This happened to me as well. More than once.

I was able to trace the specific actions which produced this effect and was then able to recreate it at will.

I sent in a saved game to Ross with specific instructions as to how to produce this 'bug' but he was unable to make it happen on his machine. Apparently not all bugs can be recreated by our technical friends at Matrix, which makes me think one's hardware/software configuration may have some odd effect on UV.

So far, I've only seen this while playing the Japanese as I've not had the opportunity to test it as the Allies.

I still have the saved game file if anyone else at Matrix or 2x3 would care to try it on a different machine . . .

Widi,

If you have a repeatable save with instructions, please send it to me at erikr@matrixgames.com.

Erik-

Given that I sent you the file a week ago and I've had no response from you to my follow-up emails, I assume you received the file and got it to 'perform'.

Weird, eh? Or maybe we stumbled upon someone's 'backdoor'? No matter. I'm sure you guys will figure out what to do.

Already did that, Ross. About 3 weeks ago. You said you couldn't recreate the bug on your machine.

Am curious to see if Erik will.

Ok. Sorry. I get sent a few emails a day. Chances are that eric wont be able to replicate it either.
