Reinforcements

Post by CatLord »

I never used them so far in my Brits' campaign against the AI.

Do you use them ?

Does the AI use them ?

Don't know about the AI but I use them from time to time. Usually to order ammo trucks when I find my ammo starting to run low. Also pretty useful if your offboard arty's run dry and you find yourself needing another artillery bombardment sometime soon.

Never thought about that !

That should be usefull with the Britts, thanks.

IIRC, The number of points you spend in reinforcement is substracted from victory points is it ?

An ammo truck won't make a big difference then... :D

The number of points you can use is a certain percentage of the victory points you've accumulated so far (can't remember but I think 20%).

Yup ammo trucks only cost a small fraction of that though you should do some pre judging and call them long before you start getting desperately short on ammo since it'll take them awhile to get to your forces plus more time to rearm your forces.

The units that I find who tend to run out of ammo fast are my flak 88's and mobile mortars so I usually just plant an ammo dump beside them.

Your right Wolf it's 20%. Players can now purchase reinforcements based on 20% of the points spent to make up their initial force. The AI won't call on them specifically but most scenarios/battles/campaigns will have a pre-determined turn built in by design on when they appear so it may give the apperance that they are being called upon.

So what in the case of the "standard" generated campaigns ?

To the best of my knowledge the AI won't call upon them in a generated capmaign or battle.

I use 'em to call up replacement tanks.

Can you get strike elements with it? Otherwise one can get extra of those 1-use aircraft if the opposition appears to be low on AAA.

In a generated battle you have you have to make sure the Air Sections have a value assigned, in prebuilt scenarios/campaign the option has to built in by the designer.
