Eklohippy: For the record I use Windows 2000 pro, and I am perfectly aware of what the "three fingered salute" does.

In Hell.

After a deliberation the judges decide that Shel probably wouldn't have lasted much longer anyways and award the decision to Lobsteve and Tek-69.
Sigh... due to my noob moves (hmm, that sounds weird) in the first 150 seconds, I wasn't able to help Hetzer like I should have. Also, having an all-energy titan in hell doesn't help much either.

Isn't it the perfect place to have them? Is your opponent going to raise his shield? ;)
Also, with energy weapons, you probably have a good heat reg, and that's what you want to have in hell, whatever your payload. And you don't have ammo explosion problems. *Those* are nasty in hell. Mesons are nasty in hell.

Nah, you were just unlucky, winding up in the one spot in the mountains where you were low enough that none of us had LOS with you. I actually thought everyone on both sides played a really strong game. I really had no idea who was going to take this one until Hetz went down, it was that close.

AutoHost, the loss had nothing to do with you. You were simply following (bad) orders. The game could have been won had I used you better so no appologies. You did what I suggested when I suggested it. This loss folks belongs entirely to me (clutches it greedily to chest). It's Mine I Say, Mine all Mine :)

Oh, by the way LobSteve, I have this great new design for you to test out the next time we play.............:p

Let me guess, an AC20 on each body part and a good 2 points of armour?

Dueled Lobsteve with an Immolator in Hell :) Unfortunately Lobsteve dueled me with an Immolator in Hell :( However I got lucky with the terrain and the difference in cover made all the difference in the game. His Titan died of the complications of 3 simultaneous ammo explosions.

Would someone please explain to Lobsteve that I'm supposed to get the good Titans in my arena and not him. Am sique old man and it's not nice of him to make me work so hard. (pouts)

played korg this evening. i started launchin' lrm's from the get go but when this got closer his ac 20's started to really hurt. i was hitting constantly but with missile's damage seems to take forever to show up. while i prefered to wear my read pajama bottoms in the snow korg chose his yellow raincoat. i was enjoying the fight immensily till he blew off my right leg. as i was laying on the ground he decided to try an come over to help me stand up, i thanked him with some very lucky 40-50% lrm shots.
this was a really close battle. if korg hadnt broken all those mirrors so many moons ago he would have won.

then in another match(sans korg) that was goin quite well i found out it's very annoying when both players wait on each other. basicly at 1500 second gametime we said to hell with it an called it a draw. i want a rematch yo.

Actually, I think it's because I keep opening my rainbow golf umbrella indoors.

If you have a rainbow golf umbrella, you don't need to be opening it for the bad luck to find you. Next time you work with Corrin's sacrifice deally, toss the Umbrella in! ;)

Bring Forth The Rematch

Post by Lobsteve »

In a highly anticipated rematch of our idiodicy-postponed bout of the other night...

In the Blue Corner!

TEK-69!
Riding his own custom Titan the P-C-P with it's 4 AC20s this boy comes a-knockin' more than anyone would like!

And in the Yellow Corner!

LOBSTEVE!
Strapped into a Rifleman this denizen of the depths is still -hating- playing in Hell.

An for todays arena....HELL!

Ding! Round 1

Both contestants come out charging racing across the mountainous sides of the map for the plains in the middle. Lobsteve takes the extreme north and the cover up ther, while Tek choses the south and the plains.

Look at that! Our competitors have sighted each other. Locks are up! Scans active! Now this is...*bang*.

And so much for the announcer.

I was lucky in getting a critical scan early on so I knew what I was up against. The rifleman packs a good punch from a distance with two Gauss Cannons and an AC7, so I was hoping I could back off and snipe out of range of the AC20s, though I realize that the 20s are hard to use well in Hell with the heat troubles and all. At any rate I slapped Tek with the two GCs and the AC from a distance as he was still moving east, then when we lost LOS because of the hills I began to circle back around north for the cover of the monuments that way.

Unfortunately I didn't have enough time to get a decent distance between us. Tek juped the big hills just east of center and closed the distance quickly while I was trying to back up while shooting. I was heading for the hills in the NW because they had good cover on top of them and a good field of view.

Turning point of the game: Tek failed a jump-landing check and stayed down for as long as it took me to get up on my hill. He just couldn't get up and I had several free shots before he was able to crouch up and start smacking me with the 20s. Then it was down to luck. If he'd gotten lucky once and hit me in the head a second time I would have been toast, as it was I fook out his RA and RT before he fell back down. As he tried to get back up again he fell on his LoT and that was it.

Lobsteve.

i submit to the jury the following, the announcer who called the game was hired by lobsteve to unscrew the bolts on my titan, shortly before the match. when steve realized he couldnt afford the cotsly price for such a fix he shot the announcer in site of us all, and thereby hiding forever the truth.

:P nice game yo.

Hey buddy, shooting the announcer is clearly allowed for under the rules....he got in the way. (which also explains some of my misses ;) ).

It was a good game. I fear those AC20s. Feeeeeeer.

I was victorious in a team game against Cyavhn, but I take not the least bit of pride in it.

I selected Tiny Teams and I got 4 recon titans with long range weaponry. Cyavhn got two Light CC titans.

Needless to say I mercilessly slaughtered his Titans by circling, dodging, weaving, and generally applying the death of a thousand tiny wounds over a netgame that lasted about 3 hours.

I might like to add that I am not in the least bit proud of this victory. It was handed to me on a silver platter because I lucked out with the team placements.

i`ve never hosted before so i don`t know the setup, but i do know that in hotseat games, both random and AI have to be adjusted with the binit. so that the odds are a little evened out

he did get it on an iron platter, towards the end i was so discouraged by not being able to move properly against his faster recons that i more or less (mostly more) threw away the gauntlet, so to speak :(
