- Coastal Guns at Tarakan doesn't fire when enemy vessel aproach... grrr...Now he has put my fortis to 0. Well.. At least I bought time.

- CLs Jintsu and CL Kinu have bombarded Espiritu Santo with no effect. An aussie T.F. is now very near to give support to the base. Some minor changes at the LCUs will be done in a few days, to improve defenses..

- I-3 sank xAP Campyus at surface, even inside a convoy. I NEED MORE ESCORTS. xDDD

HERE HE COMES !!!

24/4/42

The assault has began !!!

Target: Semarang.

Enemy Forces Recogniced: KB, One large BB TF and a great amphibious TF.

Naval Search has been worse than bad and the transports have arrived to the beach without one single bomb or torpedo been launched.

Today, my carefully husband KNIL, RAF, RAAF, US Army, and several air units, trained since 8 December launched a HUGE attack....

Image

With meagre results.

After a full day of attacks, I got 1 torpedo at one BB ( the ISE ), two DMS damaged and 2 xAPs damaged too. :( . Cost: 90 airplanes.

Tomorrow I'll launch MORE planes to the battle. Is now or never, the time to STOP the japanese. If I can hold him here for two more months, he won't be able to launch any other offensive all over the map, as my reinforcements would have arrived, fresh and well entrenched.

BTW: 23/4/42 see the fall of Singapore:

Image

Image

Lot of LCU had cadres all over the map, so I'll be able to rebuild them. Besides, two indian brigades plus some Base Forces and support units are now at PALEMBANG, where 500 A.V. expects the arrival of the japanese attack.

Stay tunned !!!

HUGE AIR COMBATS ALL OVER D.E.I.

More than 200 warplanes lossed in just two days.

Several japanese BBs damaged:

BB FUSO: FOUR torpedos ( all hail SSKIV !! [&o][&o] ).

BB HYUGA: TWO torpedos.

BB NAGATO: TWO torpedos plus two 500lb bombs.

BB YAMASHIRO: ONE torpedo plus one 500lb bomb.

BB MUTSU: ONE torpedo.

( plus one torp to the BB ISE yesterday )

xAP Tatsuta Maru sank by dutch PTs with two torpedos [:)]

Overall a good situation: Japanese Army at Semarang are 700 A.V. I have 1.100 A.V. [:'(]

*******************************************************************************

North of Japan, the SS S-45 puts two torpedos at xAK MIDORI MARU.

RAIDER GROUPS BETWEEN W.C. AND P.H. : Several convoys spotted and attacked by AMCs and CLs. four xAPs and two ACMs sank. I should make a huge convoy to embark all I want to put at SWPAC...

edit:

the xAPs are: xAP Tjisaroa, xAP Kota Tjandi, xAP Van Neck, and xAP Speelman. Hummmm. More than two... Pfff... time to reorganize !!! Again !!!!

26/4

The Chinese Front began to getting hot !!!

Several divisions near Changsha, pushing to cut down some Chinese Corps, incluiding one entrenched at hummm grrr.. the City at East of Changsha. I'm retreating. Those fully trained corps are a really very good army. With them, I'll be able to hold that front for months.

At Hankow the last japanese ofensive has got a bloody answer: You are not allowed to pass!!!

Image

However, I'm not going to push, here, as I'm sort of supply and lots of corps have very mauled...

At D.E.I.

Seydlitz has vanished. A Bombardment T.F. striked Semarang at night with little effect and now there is no japanese ship near. One british bombardment T.F. is asembled to say hello.

First bombardment round today:

Image

Besides, I'm looking at my mauled sqns all over Java, and overall they mantain enough degree of danger to do a lot of damage to the japanese forces...

FINALLY BB FUSO is sank with ANOTHER FOUR torpedos. And the credit goes to S-39.....

Some air strikes score 1 hit at CA CHOKAI. One 300kg SAP bomb destroying one 127mm mount..Well. Everything counts !!!

Some B-26s attacked the KB but get no hits....

I've a gift to the japanese player on the next turn. Dunno if it will works, but I think it deserves the try.

30/4/42

( uuh, I missed a turn? )

My Swordfish launch a "Taranto attack" agains Singapore with no efect: 15 Stringbags got nothing for 1 airplane lost.

A bombardment TF comprising CA EXETER, CL GLASGOW, CL ENTERPRISE, and CLAA VAN HEEMSKERCK attack the japanese troops at Semarang.

A bombardment TF comprising CL BOISE, CL TROMP, CL SUMATRA, CL DE RUYTER plus some DDs attack the 2nd Raiding Regiment which is trying to get Kendari by foot. xDDD

SS SARGO is located near H.I. by the  ASW escort of one convoy. My SS finally back to work after 4/42 upgrade.

SS DRUM is heavy damaged 60/50/12  near North Coast of Japan. Will try to reach Attu Island. One AS with the CHARLESTON as escort has departed from Anchorage to help on repairs.

SS O20 attacked by DD Nenohi. Enemy T.F. comprised BB YAMASHIRO, CA KUMANO, CA MIKUMA, CL OI and 4 DDs. One hit at the SS.

I-155 put a torpedo at BB ROYAL SOVEREIGN. FLOODING30. Little system damage. Will go to Cape Town ASAP. DD ENCOUNTER put a direct hit to the SS.

I-9 launch a torpedo at DM MONTGOMERY, but missed!!!

KB is back !!! Several air attacks got one AMc and one MGB sank. One Mohawk and one Zero losed. 1:1 is a good ratio.

I-58 sank the AP Thomas Jefferson [:@].

DEI

Hummm. Another amphibious assault !!! This time at Kalidjati !! But...this is a level 1 port !!! And he is there with FOUR divisiones (38,21,4 and 53). How he expects to mantain them supplied ?? At a lvel 1 port he can unload 2.500 supplies per day...assuming it takes it undamaged. He needs a big port to mantain its troops supplied. I suposse next target is Batavia. Well, 120 AV and level 3 forti. Well rested and fully prepared... We'll see..

All non combat units has began to move to Merak, in order to be transfered to Palembang.

Several LCU at Semarang will move to Kalidjati. He'll need weeks to put the 4 divisions ashore, and they will be very disrupted...

Today the assault has cost 1836 losses: 200 combat squads disabled. This is 1/2 division !!!

Several air attacks cost him 13 Zeros to about 35/40 dutch planes. I'm out of Dutch fighters reserves.

I-162 hits one mine at Semarang. On fire. Heavy DMG. Well, with 300 mines, it was just matter of time.

BTW: 2 SS in route to Kalidjati to put some mines to make the unload more funny.

SOUT PACIFIC

I-18 sanks xAKL MANINI with some troops aboard. Nothing important.

SS DRUM about to sink. Was hit by ASW airplane and it's almost impossible get home.

Several convoys in transit. Lot of Marine Sqns at SWPAC airfields. 2 Sqns per base to provide air cover will be the rule.

Some mine LCU adjusts made. The 256th CD Regiment will go back to PagoPago for rest and refit. She has lost 5 of its 8 guns...

You are doing amazingly well. [&o]

Do you have surface combat groups, subs and MTB/PTs that can raid Kalidjati? He will be unloading there for a long time.

I've send a PTs group, but with KB in the middle of everywhere, sending surface ships will be a masacre. Anoter thing was the submarine card, which I hope to play this night. [:D]

2/5/42

HEART ATTACK !! Ufff... a looong replay of the turn, with lots of offensive words screamed to the TFT, and a huge sucess at the end of the day.

This time I'll be posting as the combat report was shown:

Ok, night action:

SS KIX got 15 hits. Skipper is a guy with LOT of luck and will be able to made Soerabaja. Bad begin.

SS DRUM sanks from previous dmg. Amazing.

My PT task force finds the main japanese Amphibious Force and TRIED TO EVADE COMBAT. The admiral had +70 of agresiveness!!!! [&:][&:]

Second round. The same PT task force find again the jap and put a torpedo at xAP HUSIMI MARU.
TM-7 and Q-113 sank. Some collisions between the japanese transports. Not bad.

Dawn. Ok. Here is the moment guys... Fly, fly !!!

"Unable to find the target by range or weather"

O.M.G.

Bostons ? Nop, Marauders ? No. Swordfish ? No. Catalinas. YES. ALL AGAINS THE K.B. Amazing. I miscal the range on hexes and...well. Seven Cats less. Blenheims? At home. Dutch medium bombers ? Nop.

And now comes the WIRRAWAYs !!!!! xDDD and the CW-22 Falcons and (imagine that) a singe L-212 which put a BOMB at the CV SORYU. They put a 100kg bomb and another of 50kgs. I was about to cry, or laugh or...

Next wave with same planes against transport ships got more results:

xAK ASAKASEN MARU: 2 bombs hits. On fire.
xAK KOKA MARU: 3 bomb hits. On fire. H.D.
xAK TAIGEN MARU: 2 bomb hits.
xAK ORIDONO MARU: 1 bomb. Heavy fires.

(all with 50 and 100 kgs bomb xDD )

Meanwhile, at WC:

I-5 puts a torpedo at xAK ZACHARY TAYLOR. Heavy Dmg.

And, finally...

My Wildebees take off and...

Image
Image

[&o][&o][&o]

After this the rest of the turn was fantastic.

SS KXIII sanks the xAP DAIREN MARU with a torpedo.
SS KXI puts TWO torpedos at xAK ORIDONO MARU. Probably sunk.

SS POMPANO sanks PB NIGITSU MARU near Korea.

And, in land phase, Japan launch two shocks attacks at Hankow and Sinyang:

Yeahh...this is a good end of the day [:D]. Looks like Hirohito will need LOT of fresh meat to fullfill its ranks. [:'(]

Well...I have need the lost of 300 airplanes to put a bomb at the Soryu...I'm out of duth frames. The available are DB-7s and B-25 which I want to keep to the Dutch RAAF SQNs...

About the Chinese Front: I dunno why he is going this kind of attacks.... It's not "my" victory, but "his" defeat.

If Batavia falls I'll began the extraction of ALL troops at Java. They will move to Sumatra (Palembang and so), to make the island an absolute fortress...

3/5/42 [MAY]

CA MAYA ATAGO and TAKAO pummeled several MLs, MGBs and HDMLs at Palembang. All 10 sank. Later, they have bombarded the airfield with little losses...

In the morning, Lots of Nells and Bettys stormed the airstrip ( I had pointed my fighters to another direction, trying a CAP-trap, fail [:(]), and I have lost around 6 various airplanes.

When finally my fighters get to catch the bombers, the party has began. 14 Betties downed (between A2A and flak). Not bad...

DD YUZUKI and xAK ZUIKO MARU reported hit by one mine each.

SS KXIII hit by enemy DD and is making Soerabaja with about 30/30 of DMG...

SS PIKE is reported hit. He is at 60SYSTEM and 14FLOT DMG. Ordered go back to Midway, to low dmg and later to P.H.

I've began to pull out of the Java some troops. Palembang is the key. I hope he will not be able to taken it till JUNE or JULY. [:)]. We'll see.
