It is also rumored that they rarely shower, spend most of their time in dark caves full of electronic devices, and live on a diet of coffee and twinkies. [:D]

You started something Baleur...hehehe. [;)]

Don't forget pizzas and energy drinks! Mmmmmm... pizzas.

Seriously though, I hope there's some kind of robotic race or two in the expansion. I've always been fascinated by cybernetics, implants, AI and robotics.

Could you imagine, if a robotic race was introduced, what planet type would be most suitable for them? Barren, with alot of metals and stuff right?
Then they could colonize most of the planets in the galaxy [X(]
And replicate, they did.. [:-]

And I really, really hope that developers will find out and correct "disappearing message rows" bug, because now I have to quit playing DW because of that bug. I have played about four months now, many, many games, and haven't ended a single game (except those I have lost) as 'normal' way. This is sad, because I really like this game.

I'll try again after next patch (if there will be any).

Wenla: I've had that bug happen to me also, and I have always just been able to reload the game and get the messages to "flow" once again...

Ill admit i havent played long enough to get that bug, i pretty much always start over once the entire galaxy is explored (i get so confused by all the cris-crossing empire lines and intermingling borders, thats the only thing i really dislike).
Love the beginning and midgame when its more like "this is my space, that is yours, FU if you trespass".

I also quit the game when the galaxy is fully explored because of the confusion in late game. I also hope the developer will have a better way to consolidate empire holdings so that we have a clear border between empire.

Some odd habits people have. Ending games before the end.
I actually like the current territory system. It keeps you on your toes and forces you to think what you are going to defend heavily and where to attack decisively. "He who defends everything defends nothing". The border system would just favour heavy defence camping. Also, I've never had any problems figuring things out when looking at the galaxy.
Guess it's just apples and oranges. I personally don't have any serious problems with the current territory system. Space is a friggin' big place. You just can't own empty space in there.

I also have done this many times when empires start mingling amongst each other. It's not really believable that they would happily live in that state of chaos, nor does it help my sanity trying to keep others out of my territory.

Reducing the quality of planets to minimum does decrease the potential maximum size of Empires greatly.  I would guess this would make things less chaotic late game.  I prefer to play this way anyway, but for those who don't, it could still be a temporary fix for the late game chaos.

I don't really mind if the territory system gets borders also. If it's going to happen, I just hope that they don't scrap the current system completely.

Usually by late game I've started my 'March of Conquest', so the intermingling makes no difference to me at all.

Yep, same here. In my normal games, late game, I usually have established really secure empire which has superior strategic value and some powerful allies. If needed, I may wage war by various means against empire who might have higher strategic value or be pain in the ass in some other way.

If I'm playing to win, then the game is a walk over, but usually I'm roleplaying, so to speak, as a peace keeper, trader, small empire. Playing the conquerer all the time isn't for me.

I'll give that a try. I don't think I've ever played with minimum planet quality before.

I'm really looking forward to a Mods patch myself, from whats said somehow I get the feeling we may well have to wait until after the expansion. But I like the game,so worry not it'll all come to pass.

I usually (but not always) can continue (=messages rolling on again) after reload, but sooner or later it doesn't help any more. And beacuse this happens usually just in time when I can see good signs for winning, it's really frustrating...

Gal Civ 2 had borders but I never liked them as it was mentioned previously it adds the build up of forces problem at least on the player side. I like the way territories are displayed in DW currently as one or more alien races or your own are hanging out or building stations in a neutural or enemies area of influence they get angry and give you a warning. But it would be interesting to have a option of defined borders at the game setup in case you do want them in game.

i think that planet quality slider does not affect the planet quantity very much, i still tend to find the same number of planets over 50%, they are just usually alot closer to 50%
