It's in beta. There is no debate. Beta has a definition. Beta means the software is feature complete. HOS is feature complete. Now that doesn't mean every feature works perfectly, but all the features the game will have are in, and working. In fact, some of them need a good amount of working.
World at War: Revelation, a creepy, military action, alternate history, World War Three novel. At Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing (http://tinyurl.com/mcgcht8). Only $3.99. What the hell?

What has been produced looks impressive. Does the fact that some of the features "need a good amount of working" mean that we won't see the game released this year?

I honestly can't predict when the game will be released. Bugs and features have a time line of their own. [;)]

Mark,

The point is more than people waiting for a game like to hear that developpement is going on so we know that it is not dead.
Thank for the last update.

Actually, the new Civ will be out in half that time.  2 weeks from now, or just 12 days depending how you look at it.

That's great. I thought that the target date was in October. It looks like there are going to be some interesting changes in the way that battles are handled.

These screens are all from one scenario. Reason? It is a unique scenario. The scenario includes Partisans, Wehrmacht, Russian Guards, and SS. It also includes a high rate of fire AA gun (it's tough to get the AI to use the ROF intelligently... computer intelligence has been greatly exaggerated)located north of this screen shot. Partisans have special movement and ambush capabilities through woods. This is not only hex specific, but hex order specific. For example, the first forest hex entered in a turn costs 1 MP, but the next costs 1. SS have special capabilities before melee (they can attempt to rally), and Soviets have an overall capability (For the Motherland!) that allows them to raise morale in one hex for one turn. Hence, we have been working on the one scenario for two weeks. Here's a screenie.

Speak for your self. We still don't have a release date. In fact, it doesn't look like it will be released this year.

Since it's taking so long to adjust the AI on one scenario, I hope each unit type gets it's own generic AI behavior to use with a scenario editor.

I don't think anyone wants to be scripting much AI when they create new ones. [X(]

ok - what do you want them to do about it if it isnt? Are you not going to buy it if it isnt out this year?

The man himself who is writing the game has come on here to show you progress and you just kick him in the arse and say quicker bitch!!

Is that how you see it? I just see a game in development purgatory dragging on forever. He said that he would occasionally show us a screen shot. So he did. There's nothing very special about that. Can you play a screen shot? I don't think so. So I'm annoyed. Lot's of people are annoyed. After loyally waiting for this project for so long with nothing to show for it we have a *right* to be annoyed and you don't have any right to say that "we're all happy again". Am I going to buy it if it isn't out *this* year? That's not the point. The point is *what* year. 2011? 2012? Longer?
