Is anyone still playing this game?

Command Ops: Battles From The Bulge takes the highly acclaimed Airborne Assault engine back to the West Front for the crucial engagements during the Ardennes Offensive. Test your command skills in the fiery crucible of Airborne Assault’s “pausable continuous time” uber-realistic game engine. It's up to you to develop the strategy, issue the orders, set the pace, and try to win the laurels of victory in the cold, shadowy Ardennes.
Command Ops: Highway to the Reich brings us to the setting of one of the most epic and controversial battles of World War II: Operation Market-Garden, covering every major engagement along Hell’s Highway, from the surprise capture of Joe’s Bridge by the Irish Guards a week before the offensive to the final battles on “The Island” south of Arnhem.

True, the silence is deafening. I wonder if the issues that have been surfaced as things not fixed from the previous game can actually be fixed. Perhaps the engine is too complex. I know little to nothing about these things but I still enjoy the game and expect it to be on my hard drive for some time unless it becomes evident that no updates or improvements will be forthcoming.

GBS, I was hoping to have been rebuked by a long post from Dave!

but nothing! [:(]

PS the trouble with not knowing the future of this engine is its like watching a TV series after its been canned! You know there is no mileage in it.

AFAIK Arjuna is taking care of business and family matters (i.e. vacation) and we may not hear much from him for a few weeks yet.

If you had read the earlier post you would have known why Arjuna has been so quiet as of late -- the man is on vacation. Let wait until he gets back and see what he says then before we bury Command Ops into the dust bin of abandoned games.

I used to go on holiday or take time out and my company still carried on, especially communicating with customers.

Well done, mate!
I decided to ignore my orders and to take command at the front with my own hands as soon as possible

You know guys, it's not like this is the Justin Bieber forum where there's 10 million teenagers posting away. I took a quick look at the post counts of game on the main forum page, and BftB's forum has one of the largest post totals amoungst the newer releases. Compared to the rest of the Matrix's forum, this is an active forum.

Maybe that doesn't say much about the overall popularity of our hobby, but personally I've never been a mass-market kind of guy.

Well said! [;)]

Still playing it, still enjoying it.
Just look at my post count and join date, you don't have to be posting continuously to be enjoying games [:D]

If anything the lack of activity on the forum may well equate to more people playing.
Many games with high topic or post counts are often complaints, about A.I., supply, or other anomalies.
as above, "still playing- still enjoying" and looking forward to the httr mods.

I'm a "still playing- still enjoying" and I want to to able to look forward to HttR add on and hopefully Eastern Front after that and beyond. I now only play this game engine and have concentrated all my gaming time into learning its intricacies, alas still not won as the Germans[:(].

Having worked inside the games industry back in the 90's, all be it only in a small way running my own business, it has lead me to appreciate how good Panther's products are.

AND

I am hooked! I want to see all at Panther prosper and go to bigger and greater things!

Well, the board is very quiet and the high post count is from all the debate early on about price. Arjuna is on vacation which is why he isn't posting. Actually, I believe that not many people bought this game because of the price and the negativity around the delay in the patches.

Maybe over time the game will recover and more players will join once the new HTTR scenarios are released.

Time will tell.

I'll be back

Yeah that's because of all the complaints about price. Now do you think these whiners eventually bought the game at this stage?
I guess a lot of people didn't bother picking the game up and got distracted with other games. I suspect the user base is small and all those who bought are busy playing the game without complaints.
