change unit formations

Post by prague »

I'm new at this and know I'm being dense; but I can't get units to change formation.
I've left-clicked once, twice and right clicked on the change formation tab but nothing happens.
Appreciate everyone's patience.

1) do you have free Movement points? Most unit in most scenario  need about 4 MP to change formation.
2) Are your unit allowed to change formations? You know, not every unit can change formation to ex. square!

I'm at the Lobositz scenario, original version - don't want the update because it takes out Torgau.
For example, the Prussian artillery units have all their mp's and do not unlimber.
I don't think they went through the entire battle limbered? Prussian inf. in column will not change to line,
even under attack and they do not disengage.
Any thing else I can try?

Pfff, copy Torgau folder and update game, then paste Torgau folder ;)
SorryI have improve version of this battle and can check your problems with that. Artillery could be in enemy ZOC or in terrain where they can?
Did you try other scenario?
Do you click on your unit left mouse (to select), then right to choose and option (move, change formation, cold steel, etc.)?

It must be the scenario. Inf. will change to defensive pos., etc.
Just difficulty changing to and from column and line and artillery.
Otherwise nice game; like tabletop miniatures.
Will there be a vol II with the Russian battles and/or maybe Blenheim?
Looking forward to it.
Thank you for your time and attention.
