Palembang Captured

Post by Bliztk »

Palembang captured. Even with 458 vs 1 odds I get more or less 180 damages on both refinery and oil. [:@]

Good news are that I got 356k fuel and 30k supply. Fuel reserves in the empire went up 9.5% this turn alone [:)]

Moving up Zeroes to cover and Tankers to refill Singapore, an air HQ will move tomorrow, so I can start bombing Batavia and Madoeng airfields with IJA AAF.

Things are heating in China

Loyang Area

The Chinese begin an all out attack on the blocking forces. Thanks to the emperor all fail !
I will shock attack Loyang this turn, do not have much hope of wiping them out in only one attack, but once their supply is gone things will be easier.

!!!BANZAI!!!

China Front plan

A new opportunity window opens with the destruction of the North Chinese main army. I have 30 days until those units reappear at Chunking, so 1st May those units will be able to attack in the Changsa-Hankow area.

I have to complete three objetives before I have to reinforce Central China.

A) Take Sian and Lanchow with the oil here
B) Take Wenchow
C) Clean all the armies in the Hankow-Sinyang area.

Avaliable forces (all in state of disruption/short of replacements)
3xTank Rgt
1xTank Co
5xInf Bde
8xMixed Bde
8xInf Div
5xInr Rgt

The Plan

Image

1) I will give me 10 days to Rest and Refit, while cleaning the units east and west of Loyang. (Yellow Arrow)
2) The Armour units with a couple supporting Infantry units will move to the trail west of Loyang, to fix the defenders at Sian.
Main attack will be using the road southwest of Loyand, thru Nanyang and then Northwest towards Sian.
3) I have four divisions between Hankow and Sinyand. I plan to move two or three Divisional equivalents to clean and destroy all units in the Sinyang area.
4) Main assault force will consist of 8-10 divisional equivalents. Already have switched units for planning here
5) Lanchow awaits once I rout the defenders in Sian
6) If I take Sian and Lanchow I can let those units rot away, since they will be cut from any supply source. Some airfield bombardment of Sian will do the rest.

The most damaged units will redeploy south to Shangai, to reinforce the Wenchow attack, a couple of infantry divs equivalents will do the trick, and help to restore the advantage here.

China Update

Post by Bliztk »

Last turn I sent was 15th March, so not much lag.

Things went hotter in southern china, as Harry correctly guessed I`m weak here, and began a series of offensive movements.

Image

1) A infatry corps is advancing here. It seems that it`s one that I have not engaged yet.
I have a VERY weak garrison here. I`m moving a SNLF unit from Manila, but I think it maybe too weak to held.

2) A unit went outside of Wenchow, will be shockattacked next turn as courtesy [:'(]

3) Another unit moving to Pucheng. I have a resting division here, so garrison is good

4) Another unit moving at Wuchang. Two divisions fully prepped here. No worries

5) Sinyang is under siege, this is problematic as I have one mixed bde and a Div, but I`m behind LV5 forts. Reinforcements are a week away, so it`s a gamble

6) Resting place of the units hit hard by the failed attack on Wenchow. I have several HQ units helping to the R&R

7) The two batdivs are rearming at Shangai. I think I will move them to 1, to bomb to the hell that chinese corps, instead of their regular visits at Wenchow.

The Loyang units continue their cleaning of minor chinese units and R&R. ETA for starting the movements is still 10 days

SRA Update

Post by Bliztk »

Burma reinforcement convoy is approaching Moulmein covered by KB and some surface forces.

Image

1) I have captured Sabang before starting the operation, to clean search planes operating here.

2) I plan to invade PB next turn, then I reveal KB. PB has been bombed by two-three days, after is captured a Emily sq will move here.

3) Half KB will keep covering the convoy.

4) Bangkok AF will start bombing Pegu again when KB arrives

5) Then I will bomb with the BatDivs Pegu, to soften the defenders. I`m still undecided if KB will move to Colombo to strike Trincomalee, or came back sooner to cover Java invasion

18th March

Post by Bliztk »

I continue unloading troops at Moulmein. A sweep of Prome bagged 5 Hurricane II

Every else quiet except for many sub sightings near Singapore. I have 5 ASW TFs patroling the straits, and next turn I will bring a E8N2 Dave unit online to help the ASW effort.

I have moved back units to Wenchow in China, Harry has sent one unit towards Pucheng, so I will probe with my fully rested units

24th March USN attacks Mandates

Post by Bliztk »

Burma:

After unloading the convoy at Moulmein KB is returning for Singapore. I have already moved my 2500 AV army to Pegu, so shock attack ordered next day.

HI

After strenghening the Air ASW assets, I`m starting to see more subs here. I have 6 ASW hunter-killer groups patrolling the HI, but I cannot hit anything. I`m still building experience here, but I cannot imagine what should be if I had selected PH instead of sinking everysub at Manila.

Mandates.

Image

1) USN appears of nowhere (well, I`m very weak on search assets, building several 24 plane Jake, but still training them at HI). Proceed to bomb Roi-Namur airfield but light damage.

2) I had two subs refueling at Kwajalein, sent them to patrol the vicinity of USN. I have an airfield level of 4, an Air HQ and 100 Air support here.

3) Wotje also has 100 Air support and level 4 airfield

4) Eniwetok is held by an AA RGT

5) A resupply convoy that turns back and flees for his life !

I have 81 G4M/G3M and 36 A6M2 Zeroes at Truk, plus another 30 Zeroes at two days of Truk. I plan to wait and see, if Harry commits, then move the zeroes to Roi-Namur, plus 12-15 G3M to raind and kill the CAP, then on day two move the rest of G3M to both Wotje and Roi to try to go for the kill

I have separated KB in two bodys. Akagi, Zuikaku, Shokaku, Hiryu and Soryu will move to Truk. Akagi, Ryuho, Shoho, Ziho plus Chitose and Chiyoda will cover the Java invasion. Junyo and Hiyo are expected to arrive in a month and 45 days, joining "slow KB".

I have several convoys being loaded in HI, mainly the invasion forces, and support force for the invasions of Rabaul, Milne Bay, Port Moresby, Horn Island plus Lunga. Will concentrate at Truk before doing the operation covered by fast KB

Situation heats in the Mandates [:'(]

Sent a 30 A6M2 Zero to Roi-Namur, bagged 10 TBD and 5 F4F-3 for 1 A6M2 loss

Sent a second to Kwajalein to try to back more. Next day I will withdraw as several TFs with BBs are reported coming !

I`m airlifting a Naval GN unit to Kwajalein. Only have 29 AV here. Roi-Namur has 90

In Burma

Shock attacked Pegu two days ago and got 16:1 odds, next day I ordered all to move towards Rangoon. I have reached Rangoon with the advance guard of 15th Army. Several units trying to withdraw to Bassein. I have ordered a ground attack to slow them, so I can catch them later as they have to switch to "Move" orders.

I think I can encircle the three indian BDEs + the two divs. I have Parachute units readied to drop, but I prefer to not risk them unless I cannot back with my 5 tank regiments. An screenshot tomorrow !

Kwajalein Invaded

Post by Bliztk »

Heavy air combat at Roi-Namur, the A6M2 squadron aided from LRCAP from Kwajalein result in 44 USN planes losses vs 3 A6M2. All Zero units withdraw towards Truk, since it appears surface forces are incoming.

Americal Div lands at Kwajalein !

Kwajalein Base Force

Kwajalein will fall next turn, KB is 4 days so both Kwajalein and Roi-Namur are gone. Need to maintain Maloeap and the Lv4 airfied for Betty antishipping strikes.

I`m pretty confident that I can evict the Allies from Kwajalein in a couple of weeks, good thing it`s that Harry has to commit their USN forces near of my main base of the sector (Truk) and far away from PH. Only need an Air HQ and 20,000 supplies in the Lv4 airbases remaining in the Marshalls

50% of the complement of 1 USN CV is shot down this turn over Roi-Namur

29th March - Combat at both extremes of Empire

Post by Bliztk »

Marshalls

Harry keeps unloading Americal Div at Kwajalein. The battle line gives a visit naval bombarding Kwajalein. I had sent 5 subs to the Kwajalein hex.

One sunk, two heavily damaged and one light damaged in return for a DMS sunk. Bad odds, so I return my undamaged subs to deep waters. Have three subs from Truk coming up with mines, but two days from Kwajalein. Don´t know if I will pickup the Amphibious TF.

The resulting attack is worse for the defenders.

Ground combat at Kwajalein Island (132,115)
Allied Shock attack

Attacking force 5375 troops, 211 guns, 125 vehicles, Assault Value = 141
Defending force 2237 troops, 47 guns, 0 vehicles, Assault Value = 33

Allied adjusted assault: 31
Japanese adjusted defense: 13

Allied assault odds: 2 to 1 (fort level 3)

Allied Assault reduces fortifications to 1

Kwajalein will be lost tomorrow. I order the H6K2-L to pick up the Kwajalein BF (only irreplaceable unit here).
Another sub picks up a fragment to be sure I get survivors.

Marshalls relief force

KB is three days off Truk, one day to refuel/rearm and two more for cover the 20 hexes from Truk, so until 4th April I cannot seek battle.

Batdivs 4 and 5 (Mutsu, Ise, Hyuga, Yamashiro) are three days off Truk too.

Truk has 360 AV prepping for targets in the Solomons PNG. I have a convoy with the 19th Inf Div (100% Ready for PM 463 AV) a week from Truk. Another convoy with the assigned garrision for the Mandates (several Garrison Bns) with another 360 AV.

I have switched three Divisions from Kwantung and begin railing them to Port Arthur. I can buyout one in two-three days, the others one each month (approx), so basically I only have one more div (80 exp unit !) avaliable for reinforcements. In another 15 days I get 360 AV in garrison units, so I can have 1500 AV points in 15-21 days at Truk.

Air assets

2x30 A6M2 units, 81 Betties and Nells. Could send more units, but currently I do not have good bases to use them, also after I cover up the Java invasion I can release 60 Zeroes more.

Plan
Wait until KB and Batdivs arrive while trying to harrass USN. Then I have the option of ignoring Mandates until the Kwangtung division arrives taking PM, Rabaul, Lunga and Milne Bay then turning back to support the reinvasion of Kwajalein.

Burma

Took Rangoon intact today !
Harry has moved all his units to Bassein. Follow up plan.

Image

1) Rangoon has been taken intact. 55th Div rebuilt and resting here.
2) Allied units have retreated to Bassein 1st Burma Div, 17th Indian Div plus three Indian Bdes reported !
3) I will move two divisions from the Rangoon Assault force here. Bassein is connected by rail with Prome, so I can extract myself from the track relatively easy
4) Four tank Regiments will advance towards Prome
5) 1 Division (33rd) will move using the road Pegu-Meiktila-Mandalay to try to pin any reinforcements coming down from Mandalay.
6) The Tk RGT has been ordered to move to the hex NE of Bassein, so when the two divs assault Bassein the defenders had to retreat west out of the rail or NW into the trail (but encircleable with the TK units at Prome)

I do not expect to see the entire division here. When I assault heavily entrenched targets, I always leave a cadre behind, and I guess Harry does the same.

Guide: Load the unit for two days, then stop loading, create a TF with one AKL load for one turn, then resume loading the main unit. I does the trick of loading only support squads in the cadre, so the assault unit can be engaged without remorse

Burma Area Update

Post by Bliztk »

Image

1) Harry has manage to move one unit to the hex northeast of Bassein. Im bombing the units here, getting approx 500 casualities (25% destroyed) each day.
2) The five tank RGTs will assault Prome today, then I will move one of them (the light one) to the hex NW of p
Prome to seal the pocket.
3) The two divs are rerouted towards Prome and the hex SE of Prome
4) Another div is moving from Pegu towards Toungoo to pin the Mandalay forces.

Once I get one unit to the hex NW of Prome I will cross the river, so the British units have to retreat west, away from the coast and outside of any road.

China

I continue resting several units at Loyang, moved an assault force towards Nanyang, will try to take it this turn. At Sinyang the chinese tried a deliberate assault, repulsed away with heavy losses thanks to the Lv5 forts here.

Truk

KB is two days away. Finally made my mind and will load Rabaul amphibious force covered by the Batdivs 3 and 4, while KB goes southeast towards Ocean Island, then double up NE to try to strike undetected the USN

Singapore.

Kaga + the three CVLs are covering the Java invasion convoy. First stop Kalijdati, then a secondary landing at Semarang. Finally a minor landing at Tjepoe to secure the refinery here.

Industry & RD

Post by Bliztk »

Since Ki-49 Helen arrived, switched all the bomber factories to the new standard model.

In RD department, Ki-45 Nick expanded heavily since I cannot hurt Allied bombers with the Ki-43, Tojo prodction expanded too, still flying Nates in frontline operations.

Of the wonder-weapons, Ki84a Frank 64 plane factory advances a good pace, resto are more or less at the expected levels.

Image

No expansion of HI or Shipyards this month. I will use April to elevate the supply levels of HI and China before doing the main Industry expansion of the war in May. I have set a target of 9000 HI and that will eat a LOT of supplies while the factories are repaired !

Mandates Update

Post by Bliztk »

Image

1) KB is ONE DAY out of Truk, refuel tanks and sail against the Yankee devils !

2) USN has vanished today. From 4-5 TFs located to NONE. Interesting

3) Americal still at Kwajalein, shockattacked last turn at 1:1 odds, reducing the fot to level 2. Kwajalein should fail in the next attack unless I disrupt the enemy plan !

4) I still have Maloeap FULLY operative (11 airbase damage), if the next day there is no allied activity will move here a 27 Betty unit at 100% search, 25000 feet to clear everything.

5) Suggested KB path, I go southeast instead of Northeast because I suspect that Wake has been reinforced (spotted a TF here several days ago), thus a PBY squad would ruin everythingm, also I double covering 6, the Invasion of Rabaul

6) I have sent the Rabaul Invasion covered by 4 BBs. If the search at 4 proves unsuccessful, then KB will cover the attack on Rabaul, if I locate USN KB will seek battle now that Harry has it`s battleforce low on ammo and far away from his bases.

Burma Update

JAVA

Invasion two days away from Kalijdati

MANDATES

All clear, no units sighted, another allied assault defeated at 1:2 odds !

I have sent the G4M2 unit to Maloeap

BURMA

1) All british units have moved out of Bassein under heavy IJA Air bombardment
2) Two Divs are moving towards Prome. One will stop in the hex SE, and then march to the West
3) One Tk RG is moving NW sealing the bulge. Another two are advancing to try to encircle 4
4) An unit has appeared SW of Toungoo. I have one Inf Div marching here, so they should be a road bump (will bomb them next turn to ID)
5) Several ENG and Support units moving by trail to Moulmein
6) I`m moving the Para units to Rahaeng. I have all the IJA air transports at Bangkok, so when I decide to drop it will be a one turn affair

Mandates
Maloeap Betties finds nothing. Nada. Only empty ocean [X(]. Will wait another turn to start moving units to ensure the search is not a fluke

New Britain
Invasion force approaching, two days away from target. KB as distant cover. I have also ordered the F1M2 Pete to provide CAP, since I can expect some air resistance

Java
Kalijdati should be invaded today. I have ordered ground bombardments at Merak to confuse Harry [:'(]. Invasion is fully spotted, so no surprise here.

Burma
Moving the units, I ordered the Divison NW of Pegu to attack the Allied unit. At worse is a Burmese BDE, cannon fodder for a IJA 90exp division

China
Nanyang taken, also I evicted the units from Amoy. Next days I will assemble the battlegroup that will storm Sian and send reinforcements to finish the work at Wenchow

Question for my readers (yes the two of you)

I have a fresh units at Truk 19th Division, if I unload it at Kwajalein, it will shock attack the Americal division, or it will unload normally, and then I can order the attack normally ?

It`s important for making the decision on what to do next
